I bought this yesterday at the Christmas evening. What are people using for the fragrance free moisturiser? Will aqueous cream work? Am going to try mine tonight...0

The Boots Christmas event evenings are the ideal time to purchase one of these because on those evenings you get an extra £12 of loyalty points added to your loyalty card per £50 of purchase. The Smooth Skin is currently on offer with £50 off. That means that say your spend is £250 then you get £60 of points added to your card. If your spend is slightly below £250 then purchase a small cost item to bring it up to £250 in order to get the best amount of reward points.
I bought mine this way this week and got the £60 points added on to my loyalty card for making the purchase.0 -
hi everyone,
ive used mine 7 times and am very happy with the results as it takes a week to get the stubble i would get after a day. I would like to ask if anyone has the same problem that i have which is that i dont have any hair loss. So i have that look that looks like iam covered in black heads all over my legs and reading the phamplet and reading this thread i understood that the hair would drop out. I am happy with the fact my stubble rash has cleared up but i woundering if the hair will fall out at some time?
Anyone any opinions? My mate got one and she had hair loss by the third go, and patches has any one experienced what iam having?
Thanks x x x0 -
Has anyone had to buy a replacement bulb yet? I'm looking at getting one, and wondering if you zap loads for 12 weeks then move onto 3--4 weekly like some are, how long it would be before you need a new bulb?
Thanks!0 -
I have now completed chin and neck 22 treatments over 20 weeks. I noticed no real difference doing twice weekly so am back to weekly. I grew my chin hair for 2 days to really get a good look at what was going on. I had plucked prior to my wedding in September and this lasted a month before the plucked hair grew back. I was so pleased!! It would seem not all the hair has grown back after plucking though. I have about 15 hairs on my left side and 5 on the right. Huge improvement for the right side. Under chin all the hair was beginning to come back which prior to that all but 10 or so hairs had gone completely but back to square 1 on that side. Still the results on that were relatively quick initially 6-8 weeks. I am going to give this another 6 weeks or so and then repluck again and see how long it lasts this time. I will give it another top up shot at about 3 weeks before it starts coming up again. Provided of course it doesn't come up earlier!
Round the nipple area not too many came back. So total area shots on this now at 11 weeks. I shall do next weeks and then pluck this area completely and see how we get on with that also.
Under arms now on week 13. Shall take treatments for this area down to fortnightly now. This area practically completely grew back also so am now on treatment 2 since the wedding so a way to go on getting this back together. It shall be a test to see how long this takes at doing it fortnightly instead of weekly!
So that's me done for now! Really need to get the motivation up to start doing my legs :-S Over winter is best time so they are all ready for next year.0 -
I have brought this system and used in a few times. So far I am reasonably pleased with the results. My hair is definately a lot less aggresive in it's re growth already, and that in itself is a good result. I used to have to shave nearly 2 times a day under my arms, and the skin was all sore, itchy, stubbly and red now I'm down to 3 times a week (and this is after 3 zap sessions) and when I do shave, the skin is smooth, not stubbly.
I do have one question though about the head of the system, where the glass is, does anyone notice what appears to be either small cracks or as if the gel has dried down the side of the glass head? I'm just concerned that it might be a fault?0 -
hi Barnage,
I have had two system (the first was faulty) and both had that dried glue look down the side of the glass head. saying that iam not saying it is ok. If you worried, any big boots store that sell the system should have a smooth skin repersentive there to ask or show the problem too. There is also the phone number on the back of the instructions that if you ring we be able to put you through to the people who deal with the smooth skin machine and they can give you advice.
If you find out the answer, please post it. I wasn't worried about it before, but now youv'e got me thinking!!

Yes mine also has what appears to be dried gel down either side of the glass, sort of along the edges. I'm hoping its glue and is supposed to be like this.0 -
Inspected mine after use yesterday and mine does too. I'm putting it down to gel. It's been like it for ages. Doesn't stop it working or hurt me so i'm not too bothered tbh!0

I was using the device without any problems. From the first use, I could tell it was starting to work (although I haven't been having regular sessions). After a several sessions it started to burn me (regardless of what setting I was using). I noticed what looked like cracked glue down the side of the glass. I wasn't sure if this was glue coming away or the gel somehow managing to get in to the side of the glass. I decided to take mine back because of this and also because my device did keep switching off at random intervals. I have since bought a new device. I've only had one session so far but have not be burned. I'm not sure if it is glue or the gel by the glass, or if that was the reason I was being burnt though.0
