Anyone tried Boots 'Smooth Skin' home IPL hair reduction system yet?

Hello Ladies (And any secretly hidden gents;-)

Have just completed my 3rd treatment on my chin and under chin area. Still the same as before. This time I decided to venture out of the comfort zone of Dark setting and into Medium!Not really any more painful than usual. Elastic band type sensation for a second if that. followed by a hot feeling. (The instruction book is good for wafting at your face a little afterwards and the wind and gel combined cools it down quick lolol)
Whist I had it out I decided to be adventurous and see if anything happens to my underarm area. As said previously very fiddly. Pretty sure I went over area's twice!Not too painful. In fact for me less painful than the face. Again starting this on medium setting.Lots of gel and zapping along nice and quicky. Will leep you posted on the face progress. So far no real difference for me but patience in this game is a must!! Good luck to all and do keep us updated! I need the inspiration of others to spur me on!

Must remember advice about doing more sensitive areas first whilst machine is cooler. Strayed a little too far into sensitive territory this morning and felt like someone has snapped an elastic band at my 'bits'. Was stingy to say the least. Was getting a bit too gung ho with the thing methinks and being less than careful where it was placed. Doing things in a hurry is never a good idea. :rolleyes:

However......this thing is definitely working as already there are bald patches on my legs. Granted I never really had particularly hairy legs anyway but the hair was evenly spaced out before, now there are bald patches and less hairs to shave. Can't see much effect on underarms or bikin line yet though but it is still very early days.

No regrets about buying it.

Just wanted to add my experiences of Boots smooth skin, having been following everyone elses. Got mine 5 weeks ago and started using straight away on legs and underarms. Was very sceptical about it working as some kind of miracle hair removal as I've tried other things which have not worked, like electrolysis. But...now, legs are virtually hairless (I have dark and very visible hairs - or should I say had!!) and underarms not shaved for 3 weeks now and just a few stragglers that I need to keep zapping.
Now I am waiting to see if anything grows back. Now the weather is getting better though I want to get my legs out in skirts and get them tanned and I wonder if I should now stop until the end of the summer? Anyway, keep at it..it does work!

I had laser hair removal done at SK:n clinics 2 years ago and really regret doing my face & "beard" area. You have to shave in between sessions and i feelthat my facial hair is a lot thicker and darker than it was - wish i'd just stuck to te Jolen to be honest! Had it done on my bikini and underarms and that worked great, although hair still grows, its a lot less and only needs shaving every couple of weeks.

Would love to get this SS! does it claim to get rid of the hair forever? Need to do something about the top of my thighs too as they're really hairy!

Hello. Just adding my experience. I've been going for about 5 weeks, though different areas are at different stages - I was all gung-ho at the start trying to do pretty much my entire body in one go. But like rubyminx i found it pretty boring so I kept putting it off. So now I'm mainly concentrating on my legs - seeing great results. I used to have to shave every day, and now I just shave about once a week.
I use the dark setting because the medium one stung quite a bit. I was worried about whether it would work, but it seems to be fine. I think I get better results if I shave a day or two before a session, so that the hair grows back a little bit first.
skibster definitely stick with it - I didn't see any results until about week 3-4.
I really hope I keep seeing good results - would be AMAZING to not have to worry about top to toe hair removal every friday night...!

Underarm hair has nearly gone now but i have zapped it about 6 times now . It has done nothing on my face or arms..Bikini line i not sure what it has done yet but i keep zapping. I am going start doing my legs next .

Hey Ladies!

Saturday night I completed my 4th treatment on my chin and neck and my 2nd treatment on my underarms. Still not really noticing any difference tbh!Only that regrowth is slightly slower. As before it's no thinner though.

How is everyone else with chin and neck hair getting on?

Thanks for posting your results, it's good to hear! Quick question - since the hair has gone from your legs, do you still get a 'stubbly' appearance on them?

After shaving, I am left with black dots in the pores on my legs and wanted to know if the SS would get rid of this as well?

Wow this wsounds great. My underarm & "other" hair is brown so should work well.
But the hair on my arms & legs is fairly blonde so I guess it won't work there?
