linniebabe69 - post here as much as you like - you are the sort of example I need to follow:o

Darling father is going to almost certainly coming to stay on Weds. He was going to come last Weds, but he had a 'hot date'. Now he is coming this Weds. Probably. And for an indefinite time. Probably not more than a week - but who knows? So, budget - what budget? Also darling father likes takeaways and that will get me back into extremely bad habits. I told him that I had found a recipe for curried carrot, lentil and cashew nut soup and the lack of enthusiasm fell out of the phone in chunks. Chips anyone?

Also tomorrow I take little bear to the movement group (something to do with glue, I need to take a change of clothes for both of us) and it is two buses each way and it sounded so easy last week and I am already getting twitchy!

Chrisca - so glad to hear good news about your little one!

Frugalswan - the temptations of little shops should never be underestimated!

So I am going to save washing until I get white vinegar, get the ironing up to date, deep clean the kitchen and try and conjure some sort of inexpensive but entertaining meals that will be ate by little bear, darling father and dear heart with all the allergies, preferences, pernickitiness and general stubbornness to allow for.

Celyn - that reminds me, any sign of voodoo yet?

Csarina, was it tax credits that should have gone into the bank? If so there's a thread on the benefits board about it. Apparently all Lloyds/TSB customers didn't have them paid into the bank until later than normal. The staff didn't know anything about it or what was going on and they'd had hundreds of phone calls.

    Hi all,

Not been on since Saturday morning as I've been struck with some sort of vomitting lurgy  I'll try to read through Saturday's & Sunday's threads to catch up later. Not a lot of OS going on from me apart from saving money by not eating - does it count? ;)

Poached eggs for me tonight as it's light the rest of the family are having chicken curry of some description that they are all making together when they arrive in :T

((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to all that need one I've missed loads so can't name anyone specifically. Hope you are all having good days & welcome to any newcomers that I've missed :hello:

Afternoon all. I have left my bloomin bike lock at home so can't go shopping after w*rk. I have deforsted some meatballs that were already yellow stickered so can't be left much longer and have no tomatoes for the sauce. I do however have plenty of condensed mushroom soup so have either just invented classic cuisine of the future or the dds will wrinkle up their pretty noses in disgust and make cheese sandwiches - my money's on the latter.

    happy birthday dazi

    have a good day all

stefejb - actually I have used condensed mushroom soup in all sorts of ways and it is really really nice. Little bear loved it. I also found it quite peppery.

I have managed to try and get my order sorted. I haven't got a joint of meat ordered for Sunday, which darling father will expect, but the prices are so dear. I shall have to see if inspiration strikes.

I shall browse the recipe index - there is bound to be inspiration on there.

Sunnygirl - hope that you are feeling better soon.

Bargainbird - is the recipe in the index for that soup? Sounds lovely!
