Chrisca's GDD and Clarebelle's DD - get well soon x
another beautiful morning here, although there was a frost this morning. Weather supposed to change tomorrow:mad: colder and wet.
Last of my 3 days off today. Am cleaning for an elderly lady - doing a spring clean while she is away in America then later will be doing my ironing and walking the dogs.
Dinner is a beef stew in the slowcooker - havent used it for ages - but have really fancied some dumplings.
Hope you all have a great day
take care
Hi Taplady.
I hope all is well with you? Has your son been able to get a job yet?
There really is not that much around at the moment even the bloke i saw at the job center this morning was saying that thay were getting less and less jobs in by the week and more and more people coming through there doors after work!!!
All the best:j :j :j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
A quick Hello :hello: for now.... wo*k is a bit mad so not a lot of time today to catch up - hope to get back on later & read your posts.
We had a lovely OS meet on Sat. It was great to put faces to some of the OS names, and even to find out some 'real' names (although we just kept reverting to the MSE names so gave up trying to remember the others after a while).
So no OS done by me on Sat, as I was out all day with one thing & another, and a quiet day yesterday (lie-in after a very late night drinking wine with the SIL's!). Did cook pork chops etc for me, DH & MIL (no SK's this weekend) and made mash for tonights Shepherd's pie - by mistake actually! Put spuds on to par-boil, went to hang out washing, DSS#1 phoned...and I forgot the spuds of course! Luckily had spare so did a new batch for the roasters;) and told DH that I was just getting organised for tonight :rotfl: !
So then I decided I may as well cook the minced lamb up as well, so bunged it in the SC with pearl barley, onions etc. Tonight's tea will now be v.quick to constrcut, so hopefully I can get a few other things done before I go to play badminton (bad foot, and cramp-leg permitting).
(((HUGS))) all!

im a bit of a newbie in that i have been registered with the site for a while but have done nothing much with it other than the occasional post
i did attempt to seek advice the other day on an educational matter and it was disasterous, i got really attacked which resulted in me becoming defensive and it really was not a pleasent experience at all  however, by the end of it, most concerned were able to make up and get on.
I was not keen in coming back on to be honest but i am willing to give it another go as everyone in here seems really friendly
I came across this forum by accident but it has proved really useful in that this morning i have been inspired to menu plan with a view to shopping accordingly.
As a result, i would like to share with you that i have menu planned for the next month and have done my shopping online which allowed me to watch my spending as i added items to my basket. I also found a code which allowed me free delivery so i saved an extra £3.50 :T
My bill has totalled £80 divided by 4 weeks = £20 a week divided by 4 people (2 adults + 2 children, although the children are older and eat adult portions-sometimes bigger than mine!!!) so effectively it has cost me £5 a week for 4 totalling a fabulous 0.71p per day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and what is even better is that there still could be some food left over at the end of the month
How fab is that!!!!!!:T
So thanks for your inspiration and carry on the good work

Hi Halight - all is well here thanks, hope your family is fine too. No luck on the job front. The only jobs locally seem to be care jobs and my DS isn't really suited to these. He's off to sign on again on Friday. There is also a lot of competition for the few jobs that are about.
Good luck with your job hunting. How are you doing with the volunteering with the blind?Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Afternoon Everyone finally managed to find my way back from he land of sic people
Kids are all back at school well except tiny who's too young yet anyway!
Hubby has gone back to work and the house is finally back to normal and amazingly quiet.Got loads of housework and cooking done today as I've been up since 4am.I've even managed to fit an hour on the wii fit in.
SFC with LO Cauli Cheese and Baked Pots for tea with a good old favourite Arctic Roll for pud.
MM-I've learnt that the best method of anger management when it comes to my OH Is to mutter under my breath all the obscenities that I would dearly love to express loudly but tbh it isnt worth the argument so I mutter them and it makes me feel so much better:rotfl:
MSD- How are things with you these days?
PP-You feeling better
Taplady- your post and those of others fills me with dread because come September when my YS goes to school I need to return to gainful employment and I greatly fear that my plans will come to nothing as I've been years a SAHM and if young kids cant get a job what chance have I? But looking on the positive side I hope your son finds a job soon

Wrenched shoulder.
Doing something dear heart would have done for me in a second if I had asked.
Shoulder bad from when previously dislocated.:o I really should have known better.
So if I don't post, it's just because I will be feeling embarrassed and sorry for myself.
Also, little bear has refused to nap, I have caved in and brought him in front of TV, against all my principles.
But tea is sorted, sausages and mash, so no probs for that at least.
One armed hugs for all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Hi guys,
Rant warning......
Another day at the Smoky household    I went up to put some washing away this morning and I was greeted with the unmistakeable stench of urine again, when I pulled out the 2 chest of drawers he had piddled between them again!!. The little s0d, I am sick to death of this now. He has been grounded from his gamecube and pc for three days and is lucky he wasn't here when I found it. His excuse - he was scared to use the toilet because we have another ghost!!!! Bo**ocks.....rant now over.
On the plus side LO has had his initial appt. with the speech therapist today and has been promptly dischargedSeems mum/childminder/nursery were right and teacher wrong.;) I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!! The HV has (since I saw her with LO) been in to the school and she has advised the teacher to set up a reward system as well and he came home with a certificate for good behaviour on Friday, so hopefully his 'hyperactive' behaviour is now in the past.
Today the house has been cleaned, no washing(except carpet), phonecalls done, tea prepped - nice and easy baked pots and cheesy beans and not much else.
Hi linniebabe, nice to 'see you'. I hope you pop in more often.
Meanmarie, aw hugs to you, well done on not killling him!!
Dazi, Happy birthday to you.
Pen-pin, you OK hun?
Gentle hugs to all in need and have a good rest of the day.
