    Hiya everyone

    Thanks for my birthday wishes

Yep I admit to lurking :rotfl:and I do still read, just got out of the habit of posting i guess :D

Have made a batch of Twinks to take to work today, they always go down well and last longer than cakes as not everyone will be in when I get there this afternoon. (its my short hours week this week, 1.30 till 5.30)

Also made ginger cake for us tonight, no doubt OH will want his with custard.

Done a bit of tidying round but I think its against the law to get the hoover out on your birthday :rotfl:

    Have a good day xxx

    Morning all

DGD still on nebuliser but now every 3 hours instead of 2 she is on oxygen but her sats are up to 95 now, they were in the 80s yesterday. I think and hope she is going in the right direction now. Eldest DGD has been staying with DILs mum and they brought her in to see her sister yesterday and said said that she thought that the had gone to the hospital to ger her a new brother lol. Thank you again for all your kind wishes, looks like the power of thought is working :o

About 4-5 years ago I bought a set of saucepans from QVC, they had a lifetime guarantee and over the past year or so the non stick is beginning to scratch and mark so I e mailed them explaining and they are going to organise a courier to collect them and give me a full refund :j Am very pleased with this and have already ordered a new set that I liked the look of on Amazon. Hope they come soon otherwise if QVC collect the old ones I will be without any at all. Oh dear, chinese takeaway or fish and chips, decisions decisions ;)

Washing hanging out in the sunshine :j and have just come back from Mr Ts. As I have the week off I have time to go and walk round supermarket at leisure instead of having it delivered . As ever, the usual pile of ironing is calling so will close now.

    Have a good day all

Hello, we've got a beautiful sunny day (but cold) here. DH fixed my washing line at the weekend, so I've got a load out drying, and another in the machine. We're having a quiet morning as I've got to go to the dentist this afternoon as I've lost a bit of tooth. I hate going and get really wound up about it.

Csarina - I loved your quilt. I'm making a blue and white sampler quilt at the moment where the blocks are all different sizes ranging from 4" to 24". I've just got two seams left and then I can put some borders on.

I'm off to do jigsaw puzzles as LO has decided he wants some help!

Hugs to all that need them

meanmarie - your garden sounds lovely :)

Busy day today - going to spend most of it tracking people down to find some information about things I know nothing about but everyone seems to think I do.

Have an appointment to see my sort-of-boss-in-my-other department (well, he said just drop in) for some career advice. He's very very lovely, but like me, just does not do small talk. :) I have a list of things to ask though. The only thing that might be worrying is that he works alot wth my OH's lab - so I'm a bit wary of discussing the possibility of us leaving with him.

I applied for a job in Eindhoven last week, so fingers crossed.

We had Japanese style chicken curry last night (well, that's what I'm going to call it - it was battered chicken slices with curry sauce :rotfl: ) Will be HM pizza tonight as I will be home early as I have some baking to do as well.

Went mushroom hunting again yesterday but didn't do so well as it's a bit dry. We found some scarlet elf cups too (not edible, but lovely to look at).

Four days until the outlaws arrive. I tidied the house yesterday and dragged out a huge set of things to get rid of. OH was having kittens as he hates chucking stuff out. :)

Morning all. Been awake since silly o'clock but stayed in bed so i wouldn;t disturb OH, think i disturbed him anyway as I was tossing and turning!
Hi Halight:hello: Hope you feel better soon and the JC goes well!

Orkney Star hope you feel better soon too!

Good vibes to your DGD Chrisca! I hope she makes a speedy recovery

And (((hugs))) to all others who need/want one!

Well it's a sunnyish morning here but going cloudy now so perhaps won't be drying the bedding outside, it will have to go on the airer. Need to clean the bathroom and hoover round, will fit it in around writing a presentation for my interview on weds.
It is the first time i've had to do this for a job interview and I am very nervous - which is daft as I've done research presentations for far scarier audiences!

Left over beetroot and onion tart for lunch. HM pork chow mein for dinner, with YS pork and some random veg from the box!
Need to rehearse at some point today as I've got choir tomorrow and i;ve not practiced all week - bad Karrie.
    Better get on.
Hope you all have a good day!:D

Happy Birthday Dazi - and yes it IS illegal to even so much as touch a vacuum cleaner on your birthday. However you'll be pleased to know that on your birthday all the calories in Twinks drop out and so you can have extras!

It has been drizzling on and off all morning hence the washing is still nowhere near the line. Tsk, I'll have to drape it all over the house.

Thanks for the interpretations about my dream - I think that Hardup Hester's suggestion that I need to lose weight is spot on - well I'm definitely not living off the fat of the land! I do have a confidence issue as well I think, and while I can stand up for myself most of the time I have very little faith in my ability to do a job and know that I should be miles further ahead in my career than I've ever achieved. It didn't help that someone called an employment tribunal over a decision I was party to a few years ago - it shook me to the core even though I didn't actually do anything wrong. But I have lost my nerve and am not happy about challenging myself. Oh listen to me, blah blah blah blah blah!!!

OrkneyStar...you have my utter sympathy regards your back, I know just how demoralised and miserable the pain can make you feel.

Chrisca - I hope your little grandchild continues to show signs of recovery. What a worry for you all. I'm impressed with QVC's service - that's excellent, you were right to call them up.

icecubequeen - good for you for volunteering at the animal shelter. It would break my heart...

    Bye for now

  • Hi im linniebabe69,

im a bit of a newbie in that i have been registered with the site for a while but have done nothing much with it other than the occasional post

i did attempt to seek advice the other day on an educational matter and it was disasterous, i got really attacked which resulted in me becoming defensive and it really was not a pleasent experience at all  however, by the end of it, most concerned were able to make up and get on.

I was not keen in coming back on to be honest but i am willing to give it another go as everyone in here seems really friendly :D

I came across this forum by accident but it has proved really useful in that this morning i have been inspired to menu plan with a view to shopping accordingly.

As a result, i would like to share with you that i have menu planned for the next month and have done my shopping online which allowed me to watch my spending as i added items to my basket. I also found a code which allowed me free delivery so i saved an extra £3.50 :T

My bill has totalled £80 divided by 4 weeks = £20 a week divided by 4 people (2 adults + 2 children, although the children are older and eat adult portions-sometimes bigger than mine!!!) so effectively it has cost me £5 a week for 4 totalling a fabulous 0.71p per day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and what is even better is that there still could be some food left over at the end of the month

    How fab is that!!!!!!:T

So thanks for your inspiration and carry on the good work

    xxxxxxxx linniebabexxxxxxx:A
