I thought I would express my opinion as to chat on here. Here is a quote from Forum Rules
"We encourage community, but not thread derailment."
I dont think chat related to a shopping trip to Boots with glitches included should be moved from this thread. I do agree that when people respond to a post it would be a good idea to not quote the whole of the previous post. I too really enjoy SS's shopping trips especially as I often come to London to visit my son so shop at the same stores. So peeps I think the secret is to not post too many long posts but I think we need to be careful not to ruin the whole ethos of this thread. As per the quote I dont think chat is thread derailment but is definitley community. Dont get me wrong I am very grateful to Crazyposhgal for all her work!! By the way I posted yesterday I was not allowed to use a perkie on a reduced foundation compact well I went to another store today and the compacts were not marked as 1/2 price but it went through as £6.35 and she allowed the perkie. So maybe if you see them reduced remove the clearance label before you get to the till

I picked up one of these (SEL £1.79) and went to pharmacy (thought I'd be safe there) for a price check - the girl said "errr ... 23p? That can't be right - I'll go and ask the manager". A few minutes later she came back - "it's £1.79. I can't let you have it for 23p, the till is obviously wrong!"

And kept it behind the till! There were two left on the shelf, so I don't know if they removed them - and might possibly have notified HO in order to change the price at the till? Sorry if it was my fault! Did anyone get one at 23p this afternoon?

    Sue x

I got mine at about 4.30pm so stores not made aware yet however at a different store also in milton keynes area at 4pm none on the shelf at all. Is it Mr B getting wise or another bootser?

I've just noticed Soap and Glory is 1/3 off online. Does anyone know if this is in store as well? I'm getting a few treats for my friend's birthday (and probably for me too!) but it won't be a huge order. I can save postage costs if the offer is on in store too, otherwise I'll make bigger savings online if it's full price in store.

Also, I doubt people memorise stock, but it's worth asking! My friend has asked for the shower foam and it's out of stock online and not available in the Burnley store. Does anyone remember seeing it in Manchester at all? Might have to make a special trip for her if they have it! Thanks!

Yes, S&G is one third off instore as well at the mo.

That will change easily enough if people take this opportunity to go over there now and do the boots chat. ;)

That is what I did but in this post -

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=19294887&postcount=40

Broclo suggests we carry on as before which makes me feel a bit unwelcome in the chat thread

I think I will just read for a few days while it sorts itself out......
A dog is for life not just for Christmas.
    How about a rescue dog?

my thought exactly SS. I don't think I will bother posting anymore:(

I'm going to do as - was it broclo? - suggested, and keep posting here as usual, until we hear for sure whats intended with this thread and a Boots chat-related thread.

I am a relative newbie, and accept that this thread, as its used currently, fills up with posts very quickly. But I don't consider many of them to be off topic on the subject of grabbits. The chat, as it is, is contained in a grabbit post (IYSWIM). So if I have to put a bit of effort into picking up all the great glitches and grabbits from here - its no hardship to me, I enjoy reading it. And surely it makes it less easy for Boots staff to spot the glitches and then fix them quickly?

    [quote=jazzteddy;

If all I see/ or post here is along the lines of...
....Will you all cut the chat, just post the bargains and tell all us (irregular/ or non forum posting members)
how we can get on with it and pick up bargains we have not ourselves found,
(with no thanks to the people who have found them)
...then I will be a very sad little teddy indeed.:(

This is only my opinion...and it only means a lot to me...but I like harmony...bargains and a little boots related banter.:)[/quote]

Couldn't agree with you more sweetie! Also, by popular request, I have been asked to re-issue one of the poems I wrote a while ago, and you can see by the last line when it was! For the benefit of Newbies, the question was asked several million times a day! So here goes .......

There isn't such a thing as silly questions ;)
So ask away, and answers you will find

The people here are helpful and so patient
They're generous, unselfish and so kind :D

So remember that if you receive an answer
That someone's taken trouble to respond

It takes a tick to press the Thank You button
In an instant, you have made a two way bond!

If someone doesn't answer, do not worry
It doesn't mean they do not like your name!:o

Most likely, no one can give you an answer
That's my response, p'raps others feel the same?

A "please" or "thank you" doesn't cost a penny
It's less robotic - shows you have a heart :T

And while we're on the subject - no one's certain
Exactly when the bl**dy sale will start!!!!

    Hi Everyone

    Gallions Reach - Today

whoopee! Got the Olay Definity GWP today FREE with purchase of Definty face wash, thanks to original OP, the first GWP ever found in my local, but thinks its pants, cheap and tacky makeup brush, atomiser and mirror and tiny tubes of samples, oh well made me feel good at the time when the till didn't bleep.

Other than that a boring day at Boots,
    rubbish ACM points,
    No reduced sel's for anything,
HTH anyone planning a trip there.

Oh dear not even sure if i'm supposed to post this here still a newbie and very  with the talk of several other places to post things,
    somebody HELP!
    SNIPPED

This is exactly the place to post it, cos I was going to do Canary Wharf/Galleons Reach/Beckton on Thursday, and if it's not worth going to, that'll save me a journey, so thanks very much for the heads up.

    xx

PS - Until I came on here I had never used expressions like Heads Up, or Flamed, so it's made me feel extremely young, with it, and current!!

    LATERS!!!

I think everything has blown up, will be discussed and then eventually get back to how it was ! I think there are 3 reasons why there always ends up one main Boots thread (rather than 1 for pure glitches and the other for chat) :
    1) People can't be bothered, or usually, haven't got time to keep track of 2 threads,
    2) The nature of Bootsing is that it is very involved and complex. It is very hard to separate the pure facts from all the variables,
    3) People don't feel like giving all their glitches and discoveries away on a plate to "strangers" (I'm not saying it's right but I can understand it !). Occasionally, when things are busy for me sometimes it would be nice to nip on and just see the latest 'facts', but in reality I just don't think it would work (and has never worked in the past). And I love the gossip and chat.

Please don't go Sally, I'd miss you terribly. I'd feel like a friend has stopped speaking to me, and I don't know what I've done!

OK, I'm crying bitter, salty tears now, but fortunately have many 2 for 1 boxes of tissues to mop them with, but I think if we just post, for example
"you can get a bottle of Givenchy perfume free, costs £64, but goes through with a box of pantie liners for 88p - HTH", we might just as well post

"you can get a bottle of Givenchy perfume free, costs £64, but goes through with a box of pantie liners for 88p - HTH"!!

Cos it'll be spotted by Mr B, sure as eggs is eggs!!

    xx
