I thought the Nick Lowe spot gel was O.K but not fab as sometimes i use it and it makes no difference but other times it just reduces the size. I'm trying to create a routine on it to see if actually is effective, into my 2nd week now....
    HTH

I think you have to use it over the period of a few days to notice any difference. It starts by taking the redness down then begins to dry it up.

I got the compact foundation a few days ago and the no7 sa was telling me that they are not discontinuing the stay perfect range, there just putting in another ingredient so if you like it it's good news!

why do they do this? Another ingredient has the possibility of giving allergic reactions

Thanks for the info though :)

someone asked about ear plugs the other day. Sorry can't remember who it was:o I use these earplugs 10020470?wid=200&hei=250&op_sharpen=1when I go on holiday, because I am such a light sleeper. I also keep some next to my bed incase DH keeps me awake with his loud snoring (which he often does:rolleyes: )they only cost £2.15 and they work really well. I don't like the spongy ones. they don't work for me at all.
Oooh - can I just ask - what are these like to use ? They always sounded like they would melt and go all squishy, with being 'wax'. Are they good and easy to put in ? Also, are they better at blocking the sound out than the foam ones ? icon7.gificon7.gif

They are very good. The secret is to cut them in half and that makes 2 good sizes earplugs. My OH used these for years when he worked shift. My DS went travelling around the world when he was 19 and stayed in Bangkok the 1st night and used these earplugs. However he cut them too small and one became jammed in his ear. So he had to go to hospital to have it removed with tweezers. Luckily he did not tell me this story until he came home as I panicked enough about him travelling on his own! I buy earplugs from and online company and for about £7.00 you get about 50 pairs. I will try to find the site address and post it later

Hmm, when you good people get these Clarins samples how do you do it? Do you just come out and ask if they have any samples? I've been thinking about my disaster today (my hand feels lovely and smooth by the way, but it should, seeing as it was mositurinsed twice in one afternoon with testers of Clarins face cream!) and I'm starting to wonder if I'm just too subtle about this, as I was trying to hint, making noises about liking the look of the products and heard good things about Clarins,a s well as telling them I have sensitive skin, but they obviously weren't picking up on my hints!

I'd feel cheeky just asking outright, but if you wonderful bootsers tell me this is the way to do it I'll try and pluck up the courage.

I told my Clarins SA that I was looking for something to calm down my skin, and that I had used the Boots serum, and that worked pretty well. Did Clarins do anything similar, and what would she recommend? She pointed out a particular range, tested some of it on my hand, and then I thanked her and asked if she had any samples I could try at home? Off she went and filled a little treats bag with samples for me (including a serum sample, which to be honest, I've tried and don't like).

But the bag and boxes of minis you get in it are very very cute :D

I noticed yesterday that skittles are 3 for £1 at the moment, does that mean I could get 3 packets within one meal deal??

No. You'd get one pack included in the meal deal, and then you'd pay £1 minus the cost of one pack for the other two. So if they're 55p, your meal deal with the three bags would cost £3.44(Outside London).

    hi all
went into the boots in hanley stoke yesterday, they had notice up saying no7 foundation half price then another sigh next to it saying can't be used with voucher, picked one up though and thought i would try, also picked up an item on the reduced bit and this had the same notice (voucher can't be used) Next went to get some tights some of which were half price and on 3 for 2, then got a colgate toothbrush reduced to 69p

due to the signs being up about the no7 stuff thought i would pay down stairs

the no7 item on the reduced bit went through fine, but the compact on the next trans beeped but lovely sa put it through manually :j

Any triple sandwich or whatever sandwich you want
Any chocolate, confectionery or crisps under £1.35 (I think) including multipacks and BOGOF offers etc
Any BOGOF drinks (there's usually an offer on drinks of some sort)

You should only have to pay the usual meal deal price, whatever that is in your area.

ETA If you are a HC member you can also get a half price litre bottle of BC water too, with all this you should be able to feed three children from one meal deal :rotfl:

As well as choc, crisps etc to go w sandwich and drink, you can also get little pacs of fruit -- I especially like the pineapple -- and I've sometimes seen olives and even cashew nuts. (My idea of heaven!)

So then we stopped at Starbucks for another free coffee, got the bus home, having been out for 9 hours, and then I just had time to show DH my stash and have a sandwich before baby sitting! ----snipped----
Hi SS, Just wondered where you were getting the free Starbucks ? Is it with the Guardian voucher ? I'm still loving all your Bootsing instalments !! x :D

yh thats what i do and it hasnt really made a major difference, although, new ones havnt appeared.the good thing about this one is that it doesnt cause any drying like most others with benozyl peroxide in it do.
Edit: has anyone tried anything from oxy? is it any good?
