I also fainted when I witnessed my older cousin piercing her sister's ears with a hot needle and a cork!!!!!

    xx

There's posh for you. My Mum and her sisters all had theirs pierced in Ireland using a needle and potato   Family tradition, carried on right until the 70's

Hmm, when you good people get these Clarins samples how do you do it? Do you just come out and ask if they have any samples? I've been thinking about my disaster today (my hand feels lovely and smooth by the way, but it should, seeing as it was mositurinsed twice in one afternoon with testers of Clarins face cream!) and I'm starting to wonder if I'm just too subtle about this, as I was trying to hint, making noises about liking the look of the products and heard good things about Clarins,a s well as telling them I have sensitive skin, but they obviously weren't picking up on my hints!

I'd feel cheeky just asking outright, but if you wonderful bootsers tell me this is the way to do it I'll try and pluck up the courage.

I just ask them if I they have any samples that I could take home to try, and then I usually tell them what concerns I have about my skin etc, if they have the samples in then they are fine about letting you have a few, some say no we dont have them which is fine, because you can try somewhere else and get lucky :o
    I luv freebies

This is disgusting.... What a horrible thing to do. Pity she wasn't picked up on the security cameras and made to pay for it. Ugggghhh. I shudder to think what other productrs she 'tests' in a supermarket.

OMG! Just checking for any new deals boots are doing and I read about vegetable-oil-women...gross! I have to admit to sniffing at expensive shampoos before I buy (If I am paying upwards of £15 I need to know I will want to use it!) but thats what happens when Lush is one of your favorite stores!:rotfl:

I think it would have been far better if the security guard would have made her drink the rest of the bottle at the till point!

Someone, can't remember who (do need to write these things down!!) was asking about boots in Inverness as they were going to Aviemore for a few days.
Well, Inverness is a fair bit away from the screaming metropolis of Aviemore (tiny place!). There is a huge boots, wonderful place, in a business park just to the right as you come into Inverness on the A9. Haven't been there in a while but it used to be a fab place to have a wander and they do lots of the ranges the smaller shops don't stock.
There is also another large store within the largest shopping centre in the middle of the city. The Eastgate. Over two floors and again, it should have a fairly good range of products.
I used to stay north of there but now I'm down in Aberdeenshire.

Speaking of which, any locals to Aberdeen/Dundee seen any good bargains lately??

    Thanks!!

  • Thanks for teh facial hair/blackhead advice, really helpful. :)
Geordie-lass Thanks, I have tried the lotion and the scrub worked better for me. :) I think it was actually you who recommended the range to me ages ago. :) It worked well for a while but has become less effective over time. However i gave the lotion to my sister and it really helps her skin. :)

Ladies may I ask for a little consumer advice please?
I bought a hair removal cream the other day in a boots a little way away from me. It says its for sensitive skin and for faces and its stuff I've been using for ages but its not Boots brand and I don't have receipt any more, well this time I used as usual for half the recommended time and It has burnt my face badly (I've been pescribed steriods and now some of the sores are blistering) so my question is, can I take it back to my local half used and without a receipt (but with a sad face for evidence :o )?

Thanks to anyone who can help
