Re facial hair - only have a little above top lip and get it waxed maybe twice a year, seems to last okay. My friend eventually ended up getting laser treatment on particularly stubborn chin hair - but thats an expensive option.

All too well unfortunately geordie_lass :rotfl: It was disgusting when you think about how some peeps (not me mind ;)) used to spit on those blocks of mascara :D

I know - how hygenic must that have been - I'm surprised were not all half blind by now

Passion8, I wish they would bring back those block mascaras, they were the best, seriously. No clumping and they really did make my lashes look longer. I know what you mean about the spit though but not me either ;) :rotfl:

The comb on mascara was just that, a comb applicator rather than a brush. It used to come out of the tube overloaded though, very messy to apply but you only needed one thick mega coat :rotfl: :rotfl:

The Incoco nail thingies I mentioned (£1 in Monk's Cross from £5+) is on here and has a video showing how to apply them: http://www.incoco.com/

Doubt that'll help anyone btw :D

geordie_lass - Do you remember a time when you could get peel-on nail polish? They were similar to the above, but a lot less hassle (looking at that lol), and were great to apply. A local company used to make them for the US market I think

    Who said that? :rotfl:

geordie_lass - you must have been richer than us :D I don't recall any tubes  just a block of something or other ;) and a small comb lol.

    snipped
As for facial hair, have you tried the No7 trimmer? It's far quicker and less messy than messing around with creams and bleaches. I think JML do one that's even better quality too.

I've got it, and it's absolutely fab - I love it and it's such good quality. The attached LED light shows up hairs you didn't even know you had (on your face btw :o).

Read about this in a magazine last night......

Check out the new skin health consultation service available at larger Boots stores.
A skincare expert uses a scanner to determine your skin profile to help you choose the right products for you.
You get a skincare prescription including brands like Vichy, La Roche-Posay and Boots Expert, and samples to take away.
The best bit is its free. Call 0845 070 8090 for details.

    Well you see.......
My best friend at the time had a big sister who was a rep for Faberge, she used to get us cut price make up and cosmetics from all the big names at the time.
My perfume and talc was Kiku from Faberge, purely because of the packaging
    f3bd_2.JPG
My make up was from Mary Quant and Biba, again because of the packaging.
I only recently threw away my MQ pallettes and Jelly Baby tubes, I kept them as they looked so retro but they must have been teaming with bugs :o

As for the block mascara, were we supposed to spit on the mascara block or the brush? I could never work that one out :rotfl: The comb on mascara was from MF, IIRC. It was from the NAAFI in Germany, nothing but the best for us Army brats :rotfl:

*runs and hides before she gets pelted for chatting too much* :o

ETA Yes, I remember peel on/peel off nail varnish stickers :D

    Hi Liverbird and all bootsers:hello:,

Scotland apparently has 2 of these scanner things, Glasgow Fort and Aberdeen store.
My mum had this done - skin age was 40 odd, she is 65!!! Soap and water and a touch of Olay! Takes about 10mins ish and a wee bag of goodies to take away.
