Do any of you ladies have an 11 year old daughter/niece/granddaughter etc that wear's make-up?

DS1 has a fancy dress birthday party tomorrow night and the birthday girl has requested CD's or make-up!!!
With all that has happened I totally forgot about a present  so can anyone reccommend 11 year old friendly make-up range from Boots? I'm still amazed that she wears make-up (or maybe I'm behind with the times :rotfl: )

Hi, we visited a young friend of the same age in GOSH the other day, she will be wheelchair bound for the next 6 weeks so we gave a pink No 7 GWP with the make up bits left in and we added the No17 lip and eye palletts (old GWP recently selling for £1) and the contents of the vintage No17 GWP, thats about all that would fit in it and we added some face wipes and nail polish remover pads to the bag, she was absolutly chuffed - Thanks to all of you here I had everything and DD was amazed (I got to be supermum for a moment or two ;) )

I treated myself to a shopping trip this afternoon and "found myself" in Boots, as you do.... anyway, I know there have been questions before about whether you get points if you pay with a gift card and we all thought you didn't? Well , today I bought something on a giftcard but had to pay part of the cost in cash cos there wasn't enough on the card, and checking my receipts now I'm home and playing with my stash (again, as you do :rolleyes2) I see that I have been given points on the full price of the item, not just on the balance paid with cash, IYSWIM.

    HTH

Still trying to catch up so don't know if something has been mentioned regarding the above BUT Gift Cards r like paying by cash thus one does get the points for the full transaction either when the sale has been fully/partly funded by them... HTH

Blimey, lots of catching up to do

lollyred, I am speechless at the way you were treated and feel furious on your behalf. Glad to read that you have contacted CS and I hope the store manager severely reprimands the SA's involved. Hugs to you hug002.gif

rubylou, a similar thing happened to DD with a glass paperweight, the sun burned a hole in the side of her stereo (I accused her of smoking in her room too :o ) I'm sure the insurance people will be sympathetic.

moyilla, 17, Natural Collection and Rimmel London seem popular with the youngsters for make up, not to expensive either. I'd go with lipgloss, clear mascara and an eyeshadow pallette and something to take it all off with. Oh how times change, I wasn't allowed to have make up until I was 14 and even then I wasn't allowed to wear it outside the house. When I think back I bet I looked a right state, my favourite look was blue pearlised eyeshadow, applied with my finger, and lashings of comb on mascara (anyone remember that stuff?) :rotfl:

    Morning peeps :)

moyilla - I didn't see your reply until after I'd logged out, but thanks for that info. I'll give it a couple of hours to see if it hasn't taken itself (and its 'passport' ;)) back for a Spa session, and then I'll be on the case.

Can't help with the question unfortunately lollyred1, but really pleased to see that you've had a good night's sleep :) Hope you have a great time Bootsing x

My DD (13) wants Urban Decay and Benefit:eek:[/quote]

I know what you mean - thats what all my young neices like! Expensive tastes these youngsters. Only Benefit I have is the free lipglosses from the Glamour mag last year:o

I would definately include some wipes or remover of some sort if you can. My friend always complains her DD never takes make up off properly - I have 3 boys so am not faced with this problem (skater boys and wannabe rockstars dont wear guyliner or manscara!)

Blimey her parents are brave. I'm inviting 8 3/4 year olds to Ds' birthday party, he'd have the whole 60 if he could though. :rotfl:
Back on topic: I have a real problem with blackheads. :o Do either of the no 7 exfoliators that are free with the purplie get rid of blackheads at all? I've tried Lush, clean and clear, st ives, mens no 7 face scrub! and they've helped slightly but my face still looks really bad. :( Also facial hair. :o Chin, top lip, cheeks. How do i get rid of it please!! Thanks. :)
    Hiya MSMOO
Have you tried a lotion rather than an exfoliator? The Clean&Clear lotion worked wonders for my DS, can't recommend it enough. Also my younger DS found that our GP was very sympathetic and was happy to prescribe creams for him that were more effective.

As for facial hair, have you tried the No7 trimmer? It's far quicker and less messy than messing around with creams and bleaches. I think JML do one that's even better quality too.

All too well unfortunately geordie_lass :rotfl: It was disgusting when you think about how some peeps (not me mind ;)) used to spit on those blocks of mascara :D
