I'm with Colchester, Chelmsford, Basildon & Harlow because all four are near me. Have donated several items and they have been collected as and when stated. However my OH does wonder if some of these people actually need them or take them onto boot sales and sell - he not convinced. I prefer if the items go to someone who really needs them personally but at least they are being taken and not just "dumped".

I just managed to get my first freecycle! :j Someone offered a 21" dell monitor and i got it (and collected it within 30 minutes of the guy replying to my email:j:j)

The only thing that gets me though is that i had a wanted post for a monitor and i got no replies, then i see loads of offered monitors and when i enquired they had been taken :( I wonder why people don't look at the wanted before posting an offered

I'm with the Coventry, Leamington and Solihull. I've managed to offload a couple of really bulky big things, which has been great, and also picked up some nappies for our baby due in July. I HATE all the 'wanted' posts - some people are soooo greedy!! :( Hmm, WANTED: World Cup Final tickets, a villa in Tuscany, and a Porsche Boxter please!) ;)

Contact your list admin and ask them to poll the users to see if they want to limit the number of wanted ads. Depending on how it's moderated, the overhead might not be too much to impose on the admin.

How about Billericay and Wickford also? They must be in range of your area

I have got rid of "clutter" most of which failed to sell at a car boot sale, not had any success with the one item I want yet but I think it's a really good idea!

You are right but I have no problem with people taking stuff to sell either, good luck to them, anything I freecycle is either too much trouble to take to the tip or of low value (to me). If someone wants stuff I am really not worried if they use it or sell it. The main thing is its collected, in use and out of my place. To be honest I never get round to ebaying anything and taking stuff to the tip or charity shop costs petrol and my extremely valuable time.

    Long live freecycle

Ahhh I love Freecycle! Someone on my local Freecycle has posted 2 offers for a Wurlitzer organ and says it'll go the skip if no-one wants it. :(

I would love to have a go on it and the various other gadgety bits with it, but I fear it is a little impractical to have sitting in the hallway. Ah well, such is life.
