One of my suggestions came through today (the book) but typical I've had computer troubles, which meant I've had to reformat and now try and recover deleted files, so haven't had chance to post it. Hopefully it'll be in one of the Word documents that can be recovered.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

I tend to include details like that and I appreciate reviews that include that info. Fair enough, charges and such can change over time but it does help to give an indication of whether something is value for money or not at the time when the review was written. I particularly dislike it when somebody states that something is 'expensive' in the Disadvantages section and then doesn't mention a price. What they might consider expensive might not be what I would.
I do dislike lists of things like ingredients and nutritional info and always skip through those. I think people tend to include that stuff just to make a short review seem longer.
It's like everything else that you can include in reviews... if you have a good reason for including certain information, then do so. If not, then leave it out. It's usually easy to spot people "padding" for the sake of upping their word count.
Personally, I include the exchange rate when writing travel reviews of foreign places exactly so I can put into context the prices. If the exchange rate for me meant everything was expensive, but two years later the exchange rate meant everything was much cheaper, I do believe that gives the review longevity as well as offering a means of explaining what I think is expensive or cheap etc. However, I do know others that think this is a shocking addition to a travel review.0 -
I wouldn't mark someone down because they included that stuff but I do prefer if people clearly label things so that you can skip things like that if like me you don't find it very useful. AGain I wouldn't mark down for it (I sound like a teacher!) but I do prefer to have things neatly labelled under headings.0

And yet, I prefer that people don't label things with headings because their idea of what should come under a specific heading might be different to yours. If you end up picking and choosing which sections to read, you might end up missing some information. I know this has happened to me a few times and people have asked why I've "only" rated certain way. When I told them that information X wasn't included, they told me it was in Section Y (for reasons I could never fathom). The embarrassing thing is, 99.9% of the time, I do read all of the review. Putting headings in just encourages me to only read the sections that might be applicable, so to get caught out because I'd missed the only relevant information I was looking for is pretty poor.0 -
Is a company having lots of people join up solely to write reviews about how marvellous it is, committing abuse?0

Yep, let dooyoo or a Guide know ASAP as this is classed as abusing the system.0 -
On some things i can understand not having headings but for others i think not having headings makes the review more difficult to write and to read.
Recently i've been reviewing all of the towns that i've lived in and to write the entire review with no subheadings would have made it very difficult for me to write and i feel that people wouldn't have read it. On the other hand writing a review of a book can probably be done very well without any headings (even though i still prefer them).0 -

I tend to find headings largely superfluous but it helps someone write a review then it is up to them. A friend of mine once said right a review with headings then take them out and does it really make any difference? If your review is 2000 words then I can see the point of headings although even then I would be questioning whether it needs to be that long but for me personally, headings are generally pointless.0 -
I tend to switch off at headings that say "Packaging" - if I am in for a tedious read about the barcode, the various fonts used in the printing process and lots more waffle on the subject over several paragraphs then the author has, for the most part, lost me.0
