This discussion has oft been had amongst guides and dooyoo forum members... one of the biggest issues is that you couldn't "police" the non-member reads meaning the system would be open to huge abuse. It does create a huge mismatch though - we supposedly write for the consumer but are rewarded by the member... a mismatch which often leads to less helpful consumer opinions in the quest for popularity and reads from members.

Have Dooyoo cut back on their staff?

I know they put out that notice about suggestions, but I've had 6 suggestions waiting up to about 3 weeks now.

There are currently some issues with suggestions. Some technical, others - who knows! We're told that there should be about 600 going on today. What categories were the suggestions in and I can chase for a proper answer.

Different categories, the oldest one is in skin care, then theres TV programme, food, application and internet site. I like to spread myself around a bit

I've had a website suggestion waiting for about 3 or 4 weeks too.

I know that "media" suggestions have hit a snag... I don't know why though. They should have been added this week, but from what I understand, they haven't.

As for the other categories, sorry, no idea. I can chase it up if you want.

PM me, or post your high level category (e.g. internet, books etc.) here and someone will pick it up. Here's what I see so far:

TV
Food and Drink
Software (application?)
Internet
Cosmetics

I've had book suggestions waiting for over a week now...not as long as others have waited but longer than usual.

Brooke, I'll add Books to the list, but I don't think a week is an unreasonable amount of time to wait.

I've already flagged these others to Dooyoo.

I think now is a good time to remind everyone that these are only "suggestions". A lot of people seem to think (and I include some guides in this) that because they've suggested something, it has to get added to the site. This is not so. While it looks like 99% of all suggestions do get added, not all will.

If you get a suggestion rejected, make sure you've included all the pertinent information and a decent website and image (use Amazon.co.uk for your image and you won't go too far wrong) and the official website where you can.

If the item is "foreign" or only available overseas or via import (i.e. no discernible UK market), then you might be out of luck.

The book has been over a week...i'm not sure exactly how long. *thinks* It was definitely before the wednesday before last...but can't remember exactly when.
I wish dooyoo would put dates on these things!

What are the reasons why some suggestions don't go through?
