I have seen a review today which is in completely the wrong category but nearly everyone, including a guide, has rated it "Very Useful".
It might depend on the category, because I'll admit I never read the category headings, just the product. So once I did rate a dvd review VU, when the category was actually a book, but only realised afterwards when the reviewer sent a PM to apologise for putting it in the wrong plceMoving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -

Lots of people read reviews... however, not everyone cares for accurate placement or pays attention to the category in which a review is posted. Some people have posted OT reviews deliberately in the past, simply because they can't be arsed waiting for Dooyoo to add a suggestion (or know Dooyoo will reject it) and, sometimes, mistakes happen.
Some guides do flag OT reviews to Dooyoo. I assume any guide that has rated VU hasn't noticed rather than doesn't care.0 -

I understand that but the review was for a hotel and started off with a description of booking a holiday on a website - pretty obvious to me that it wasn't a review of a hotel from the off...
I guess I just find it weird that someone wouldn't spot such a huge anomoly but whatever0 -

When I read reviews of whole towns or cities I expect them to include everything...places to stay, places to visit, shopping, restaurants. I think that you should be able to plan a visit to that place by reading the review...I think it should give you an idea of where you can stay, how you can get there and what you can do while you're there. But I guess as it's a review site really you could just give your opinion on the town or city. I always write mine as guides to the town/city rather than just an opinion piece but dooyoo dont seem to mind (they've crowned them all).
I also get annoyed when people seem to have not read the reviews. Especially because they then rate everyone as very useful and then when I rate the same review as not useful or somewhat useful I get a really rude message saying why would I do that when no one else has.0 -
Typical, I put another suggestion in yesterday for a book I started last night, thinking it'd be done by the time I've finished it. And there it is today ready to review :rolleyes:Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

Sod's law, isn't it? I put in 4 suggestions and have 2 reviews already written.
Of course the suggestions that came through today are for the products I haven't written up yet0 -

Different strokes and all that. All I want is for people to give me the flavour of a place!0 -

Same here, I have 3 reviews ready to go when the suggestions are processed. And one other suggestion (plus this one) that I haven't pre-written. I'll bet the other unwritten one comes through nextMoving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0
