Sometimes I do comment sometimes I dont, it depends on the reason for the NU/SU rate, if its information which is, to my mind at least, important and missing I'll mention that I would have found it more helpful with xxxxx mentioned though again if even adding whatever I would have liked to know about wouldnt change the rate I generally dont bother.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

  • I think commenting should never be about "justifying a rating". For me you should comment if you have something to say and I stay clear of telling people what is wrong with their reviews. Most people simple do not want to hear it. Those who genuinely want advice will PM you and some will PM you just to rant. I would never ever justify a U rate, not even on a crowned review and not even in PM.

For me comments are more for talking about the product and what you or the reviewer thought of it. Not for explaining what you hought was missing.

I used to say why I'd rated an SU, but don't anymore. If anyone wants to know they can easily message me. I think I've only rated 2 or 3 NU, and they've been ones that that IMHO have been obviously NU, like typing buy, buy, buy, 30 times over.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao

Don't I know it - you little %^%$£$!. Grrr. Still waiting for you to see the light....

    ;)

For anyone out there who thinks this is part of a feud...I'm kidding. Just thought I'd better point that out.

    There's a 't' missing.

I was doing it too but I'm not bothering now - like others have said if they want to know why, they can send me a message.

I got harangued yesterday by someone for leaving a Useful rating mind you

I always reply to messages that ask why i rated something as whatever but today after I replying to the message they told me that next time I should comment about why I rated it as SU becuase that's the done thing or something like that. I'm just not going to read their reviews anymore.

I nearly always leave a comment on a review I've NUed because, in my book, NU = abuse. If you include ANYTHING useful in a review and it's SU at the very worst.

Apart from that, I only comment if I have something to say, irrespective of the rating I've given.
