Well, I didn't keep my NSD status of yesterday (but got a new one today). Went to Asda and spent £16.11 would you believe?

Anyway, for that I got everything I wanted plus 2 x Chicago Town Pizza for a quid each, loads of juice for lunch boxes that will last a month, 2 lots of 1p bread (the onion braid was yum for lunch), some cooking bacon and 24 cans of diet coke

Re the tuna pasta bake. We truly love the Colman's one we use. It's part of the meal for us. We've tried dearer, cheaper and alternatives to but always go back. It's a favourite:o Thanks everyone for your alternative ideas though, appreciated.

had a nice stew for tea...i didnt have much meat so i soaked some of that soup mix...lentils/barley etc and put that in...it worked out quite well i think slow cookers make a great job of meat but im not convinced i like whole chickens done in them...i prefer them roast

    good evening

    Hi everyone,

Just updated sig. Bought noodles yesterday 3 pks @ 10p each, me and kids had 2 pks between us with stir fry so that was cheap tea. OH had a baked spud with chicken and veg in a kinda stew cos he doesnt like stir-fry. Just got bread and milk (and a finger of fudge to satisfy my afternoon chocolate craving!) today so was only £2.04.

Have cooked roast pork tonight for tea tomorrow, was 'posed to be for last Sun but we went out for tea for DD's b'day an I'd forgotten that was the plan and got the pork out of freezer! Was gonna chance keeping it in fridge til this weekend but we're going to visit family now. Soooo we're having a roast dinner for tea tomorrow and then might make sweet n sour with the left overs.

Feel like I'm doing ok this month. Have less than 2 weeks left and will be away this weekend so reckon it's definately do-able.

    See ya soon,

  • Went into Morrisons today with the boyfriend for spinach, rocket and bananas... and left with spinach, rocket and bananas! If he's desperate to get home an I'm dragging him round the food shops I'm much more likely to buy just what I need. This may be a useful strategy in the future...

Currently spent £43.10 in total. £61.90 left. About a third through the month with no real need to shop till next week, so I should be fine (fingers crossed). Though I seem to be eating a lot that is 'just kept in', and my cupboards/freezer seem as full a ever! I don't quite understand, though I am not complaining!

My spend today was £4.41 on 3 x choc muller light packs from Tesco, couldn't get there myself but DD1 managed to get some, they never have any left on the shelf when I get in from work.

I will be doing some grocery shopping tomorrow night so I must sort out a list or I will buy all sorts of things I don't need (and forget all those things I do)

Had to send DH to Tesco's on his way home from work as I hadn't realised I'd run out of tinned tomatoes! So spent £0.99 for 3 tins. Sig updated.
kezlou it's awful, mine burns things to a crisp at the top and leaves them raw on the inside. I have to put it on 75 (yes, that's 75 not 175) if I want to cook something at 200. So for things that need a lower temp forget it :(

    Morning all

I have given hubby €3 to pick up an iceberg and 4 x 1lt cartons of fresh milk -so I will add that to my total in a moment -bringing me to €33.89 spent -any coppers left over go in the sealed tin ;)
Only thing that will be got at the wekend is on hubbies way home from golf is a tray of cottage cheese (we get through loads and it has a long date on anyway) and some more water -but we have lots of bottles to return, so will get quite a bit back on the deposits... so €15 max will be spent -but then the water and cottage will last about 1 month :D -that will still take us to under €50 with only 10 days to go -our rough monthly budget is €140 so there is no way Im going to come in over budget :j

Hubby has taken HM chicken n sweetcorn soup and HM bread for lunch, dinner is bolognaise-not something we have that often but we fancied a change :p ...
I have all sorts of stuff in the freezer that I want to use before we go onto full scale summer menus -we are allready wanting to live on jackets n salads :rotfl: -roll on some dry weather so I can get my own stuff growing :j
    hope everyone is doing well....
