Still 1 ½ weeks to go, but should only need milk.Therer really is masses in & enough left even if I do need 1 or 2 little bits.0 -
Evening all
Went to MrS today and spent£104:eek:
I know I shouldn't take hubby and kids but was joined by adult student son to provide a lift back with heavy stuff to his flat, well whats a mum today when you get to the checkout
He had stocked up on heavy stuff and came to more than he thought so I said add it to my bill; when she had finished the total I couldn't believe it.
Reading my till receipt I noticed things like Cajun squirrel flavor crispswhat came over my son I will never know.
On a positive note both of our fridge/freezer/cupboards are fullbut there is no room for batch cooking:rolleyes: so will have to be careful what I cook.
I now have £86 for the rest of the month, so this lot had better last.
And I forgot washing up liquid:rolleyes:
Next time I'm taking cash and going alone:D

Hi there guys
Decided to go back and get the happy chook at M&S. It tastes good and I feel that I am making a (minor) stand against unethical farming methods. The stockpile money is going down, but should have some to add at the end of this month. Now I definately need to defrost the one freezer!!
Also went to get some Bombay mix for snacks at Holland and Barrett. All Neal's Yard seeds, and snacks were BOGOF, well what would you do  . Unfortunately my new favourite Hi Fibre Muesli was not included. Still although its expensive, it lasts about 6 weeks as I have porridge more often.
Already updated siggy, and quietly confident for this month.Dor0 -
I meant to say. Asda have 3 lots of 200g corned beef for £2, which was cheaper than the rest, 3 for 2 in a pack. It's the princes reduced salt one. I may have bought LOADS as my dd's fave meal at the moment is corned beef hash! I can't believe how expensive corned beef is normally though!Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. First major shop of the month today, :jspent £104 in Lidl and Mr T, the fridge is literally bulging, freezer is nearly full and cupboard well and truly stocked, I shouldn't need anything for a fortnight now except bread/milk/fresh fruit & veg, which will take me pretty close to the end of the month (my month finishes on the 26th, payday!), am pretty confident this month!!
Getting 30 eggs from a farm near my work delivered on Thursday - £2!!!!!
Lunch for tomorrow is sorted - have made up Tuna, Onion & Pasta salad for lunch boxes for everyone.
Tomorrow will do some batch cooking for next week's meals, going to trawl through the recipe index on here for some inspiration (actually should have done that before I went shopping, never mind ).

Thinking of buying corned beef I think Ive tried all of the tinned ones and they are awful! If you get it from the deli counter(Co-op or Waitrose) you will find it is actually 100% beef and far nicer. Do "taste the difference". I didnt realise until recently as Im far fussier now. I dont think the tins are actually 100% beef either.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
