I did my mid-month total last night and was pleasantly suprised that I'd spent £99.95 so far this month :T The freezer is groaning and is desperately in need of a defrost so we'll be eating what's in there for the next couple of weeks:rolleyes: Cupboards are full as well so I'll try to get by with just buying fruit, veg and milk.
  • not good, only 9th March and already spent £171. Will do only online shopping for rest of month and not let OH near Tesco. We do still have two freezers full and cupboards chockablock. So will try and do the same as Rockie4

    Hello!

Had a dreadful weekend in terms of buying things, as we went to visit some friends and took some wine etc round... need to get the receipts out and tot everything up...

However, in terms of my 2 week menu plan, that's working out really well! I'm enjoying the 'security' of knowing that I'm all sorted out for the week, and that there is enough stuff in the freezer and cupboards to get us through a lean patch.
  • This month has gone totally wrong for some reason - my meal planning still going ok but after my forgetful first big shop then my disaster with Mr A delivery I find myself once again needing essential stuff that I should have bought already like nappies etc so I need to go to Mr T later and I have added it up to about £40 :( plus its DD's first bday so we need a few bits for that too (which I won't include on GC)
Sealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151
    GC Yearly £3k so far £1097 May£220/£300
    £1k in 100 days so far - £235 :p
Snowball debt free calculator says DEC 09 - lets hope we can do it!

Hi everyone - just updated my total with today's spends, less than £60 to last us until the 26th now. I'm not panicking yet because I have meal planned until then so I'm confident it can be done.

After browsing around recipe index on here, didn't make Curry with last nights leftover Pork, made Sweet & Sour Pork instead, thanks Angelnikki for the recipe. ;) I've made Sweet & Sour sauce before but it's usually too sharp, this one was gorgeous so many thanks for that.:D

Portioned up the rest of the Pork and have 3 "lots" in the Freezer which will feed all 4 of us each time. Found plenty of recipes on this site to use up leftovers so shall try to incorporate those into April's meal plan.;)

Dinner tonight will be a Frittata, never tried this before on the kids as they are a bit fussy about eggs but as they are now 12 & 10 I think their tastebuds may be changing. Planning to make it with potatoes, onions, mushrooms & peppers which they love so fingers crossed that it's a hit. Shall serve it with a bowl of Salad.

My seeds indoors are starting to poke through the compost, showing an appearance so far are onions, peas, sweet peas and tomato so fingers crossed for money saving in the Summer months.;)

Miss Liquorice - congrats on passing your Driving Test.:T

Off to through a sandwich together for Lunch - have a good day everyone.:D

I have one of those to hubbies too.

I count him as a blessing. LOL!!
    Aren't they good? :j
They do make it easier don't they :D -as long as its not apricots -I can give my hubby just about anything -and I think my meal plans can cope with "no apricots" :rotfl:
had an itty bitty spend today -10 kilo of potatoes for €1.99 :T -I didn't need any yet -but at that price it would be rude not to :D
so Im up to €32.88 and exactly half way through our month -with only a bit of salad and milk to top up on before the end :j

We have just had tuna pasta salad for lunch and dinner is potato n onions layered in the remoska with lamb chump chops on the top mmmmmmm

right off to update the signature and then on with some x stitching -
have a great day everyone :D

Just popped on to update sig as I've kept receipts for the bits of bread & milk I've bought over the last week rather than updating daily ;) It's my 2nd food shop of the month tomorrow but I'm hoping that it'll be around the £70 mark as I stocked up last week.
  • I am so proud of myself popped to supermarket and only spent £2.97 so still doing really well this month. If I keep going at this rate reckon I can finish at under half of what I set for my budget.
