i'm hoping to cut my bill from a whopping £340 a month (which is terrible, i never knew i spent so much til i added up my reciepts).
if i can't join til next month, i'll just try cutting back until then, and keep reading all your wonderful tips.
    thanks.

I think I should manage a NSD today. I thought I was going to go over but I actually think I will come in under this month. I only have just over a week to go for my month end. Good news - my new cooker arrives tomorrow. I am so excited at the thought on a double oven. The leg of lamb on Sunday in the SC was popular with the boys but OH were not keen. I definiteoy prefer it roasted.

Nearly died at how much i spent today, just today at how much i have left to last us three weeks  and its not much  sure i spent less than i did. Ah well just going to see how it goes from tomorrow.
Totally ran out of fresh food and sandwich cheese, after the disaster of the bread had to buy some buns for the rest of the pack lunches for this week.
Went in Home Bargains and bought two packs of organic raisins, they the kind that come in little boxes so should last us till the end of the month, if i can hide them from the kids for that long.Got loads of salad stuff for pack lunches and meals at home.

Revised meal plan, as meat failed to defrost in time and the pork was more fat than meat, so had to scrap that meal.

    Hungarian Goulash (makes loads)
Beef stir-fry and noodles, prawn crackers.
Salad and omelette / stir fry (leftovers)
    HM pizzas
    Goulash
    spicy bean soup

All of the above may change as depends on what FIL would want.

Lainey c:- My partner prefers meat roasted in an oven rather than the slow cooker. He says it doesn't taste right.

    Hi seaside good luck!

Hi I've updated my total for today, spent £60 in Mr.M's.
I did have the free fruit voucher and 30p of Brain's faggots though so feeling a bit smug :D

Got loads of meals and some sliced meat for work, ham, pork - and haselet, which IMO is very underrated.
I got kitchen rolls aand it wasn't till I got home that I realised we have a load already so got enough for about 6 months now.
No real offers on the coffee so I never bought any this time, I'll have a look at Mysupermarket next week to see if there's any about. Not really fussed myself as I'm more into tea lately but his lordship likes his coffee.
I really will have to find a way of breaking his caffeine addiction, he drinks alot of coke too.

I got a couple of scallops to try for tonight as they were whoopsied, and a bit of coley so looking forward to a nice dinner.
Also instead of buying a LB of stew I only got half a pound, that way half won't end up in the dog! ;)

I got a piece opf shoulder of lamb, it cost just under a fiver but is twice the size of the piece DH got from the butcher last time. It'll taste the same as we'll slow cook it in gravy, but it will do us 2 or 3 meals instead of one.

Did a mini top up shop today. Spent £3 in s.field and £10 in sainsburys, got quite a bit too. I'm hoping i wont need to do my next big shop for another week (or longer if i'm careful). OH is is doing loads of o/t this week so that will make things a bit easier for me with planning meals as he can be a pain in the bum sometimes.

  • Spent just £3.95 today on 4 loaves reduced hovis,3 french sticks and some nestle pic a pacs. Also 80 got green tea bags and s/f jellies.Used £3.09 worth of vouchers to get this low! Nothing else spent. Went to the pool with a mate for a swim and a long session in the jacuzzi. Went back later to the gym and that warmed me up. Its a good way of not spending -going there!

Just looked at my receipt! The hovis was 45p per loaf and I bought 4. They were apparantly on offer-buy 2 for £2 so I saved 2 lots of 58p. Threfore my 4 loaves only cost me 64p!!!
The nestle picapacs have approx £1.50 worth worth of vouchers inside!

Had me a NSD today :D

I also had a very rubbish dinner tonight. We were due to have tuna pasta bake but don't have a mix so DH thought on his feet and took out cooked stew from the freezer. Had that with potatoes and beans. It was rank! In true (to me) fashion however, I ate it. DS complained also so it was a resounding disaster.

Now the question, do I risk my NSD status and go to Asda for tuna pasta mix (and bread actually) and run the risk of "shopping"? Or, do I leave off the bread until tomorrow and run the risk of DH getting the bread on his day off and "shopping" even more than me? Ah, decisions, decisions......
