Hi I've had 5 consecutive NSD this week Basically I have just been to work and come home every day. I'm so busy I just gulp down a packed lunch and thats it. Stocks are very low although just about to have HM shepherds Pie.
I quite like running down stocks as every cupboard is tidy.
I think OH and I could manage another week at a real push by DS is very fussy and the cat had eat so I probably will go shopping Saturday.
keep going everyone we are half way through0 -
Just back from mrT - £10.75 spent. Totally agree that everything still seems to be going up in price, lucky I didn't need much. Total includes 40p for hot cross buns, 20p/six reduced from 99p. I confess these were an impulse buy, want rather than need, but at least I've put them in the freezer to guard against impulse snacking
Also spent £14.78  yesterday at the agricultural store, on cat food and litter for the week - these are also included in my budget. I'm actually spending more on the cats than on me...
Off to have HM soup from the freezer. G'night all!Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain ...0 -
Just a quick update from me, as I had to get some essentials today. Spent £6.44 on 4 x litres milk, bananas, oranges, apples, a strudel and a couple of loaves. Gardening has been taking precedence over baking and I've been trying to make the most of any sunshine we've had.
Hope everyone is doing well, even if struggling to keep within targets.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Still managing to stay within my budget - had to buy a meal for tea the other day as I worked into the evening. Total for month so far is £80.01. This is definitely making me aware of what I used to spend the money on was not on essentials.0

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted for a few days but I seem to be doing ok so far this month - just had my first big shop of the month delivered. Got it from Mr S for the first time as I had a £10 discount code, so cupboards are now full of white and orange packets and tins.
Cheated a bit as it was my birthday on Monday so OH treated me to a cooked breakfast and dinner out paid for out of his spending money, so it doesn't count as part of the grocery spend!;)
I'm hoping the shopping will keep us going for about a fortnight (with a small top-up of milk and possibly veg), and I spent nearly £80. I'm still not organised enough to properly meal-plan, but I did think more about what I was buying, and what meals I could do with special offers - I'm learning slowly!!
Fingers crossed, I should come i under budget for the month - although probably not now I've put in writing!!0 -
I have yet to update my sig yet, but I know already that I have failed for this month. Just spent another £100 on shopping for this week. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how things are getting more expensive.
Definitely getting more expensive. Stuff is going up by the 10p not the penny!I don't get to come on here too often.
Too buzy money saving!0 -
Morning everyone! Just popped in to update my sig. Have done my final shop - my month ends on he 20th - so one week to go! Did my menu plan yest so between fridge/freezer/ cupboards I will come in under budget (just!) Im wll chuffed tho, because my spend includes a massive Persil, anda big pack of kitchen roll so Im well stocked for those. Next week I will just need the usual bread & milk but I'll go to Farmf@@ds for them - 2xKngsmills for £1.50 and 2x2lts milk for £2! There should be a couple of quid for the jar left! Hooray! Thanks as alway for all your hints & tips - I am delighted cos I dont waste nearly as much as I used to and I am much more aware of myshopping habits!
Have a great day!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Have just updated my signature for this week's shop - we went a day early again due to DH finishing work early. Really liking this Thurs evening shopping tho, as this time I found a Toffee Pecan Danish to share with DD after breakfast this morning for 21p! Also picked up 2x 6-packs of crusty bread buns for 10p each which will come in very handy as I am at that third trimester point where I am looking for something to eat every hour  I also have a strange addiction to celery and cannot seem to go a couple of hours without munching a piece so had to up my regular weekly amount of that too!
I have also noticed that quite a few things are shooting up, and also that the labels on the shelf state that the product is rolled back to a price which is about 10p higher than it was last time I bought it  So I will have to try and remember to update my signature again at the weekend as my parents shop at Tesco and I asked them to pick up some salsa and tortilla chips as theirs are cheaper than Asda's. Also Tesco value bread buns are still 29p whereas the Asda ones have gone up to 35p, so I cheekily asked them to pick some of those up for us tooLove and compassion to all x0 -

There appears to be very little meat even on Februarys, but this is due to having done a lot of Whoopsie shopping from Nov thru Jan - plus a Costco trip with a friend in Jan when I stocked up on bacon, chicken, fish fingers, tinned chopped tomatoes, baked beans, tinned tuna, pure orange juice, and cheese.
I'm feeding two of us on a full time basis, and during Feb had my elder son home for a week (though I only fed him three main meals, as he spent a lot of time with friends), and had my GDs round school for 3 weeks (which means 3 main meals and 24 snack meals between them)
My cleaning and personal hygiene products are a different budget (as is my pet food), but all I spent there was £4.48 on 3 bags of 'green' washing powder and £1.18 on a pack of 4 rolls of kitchen towels.
I hope this is the sort of thing you were afterCheryl0
