  • oh dear sounds like people still having a tough time..weather (grey but dry here) doesent help. Didnt get to the allotment as planned. Did my cleaning job and then spent time with weezl who is due to pop!! Hopefully helped her relax a bit with a back and head massage and left her drifting off for a much needed sleep....something very special about helping someone relax like that....
Came home via chinese supermarket. Am going to give tofu a try! They also do a lovely (but not mse/os or dfw at 90p a can!) drink of coconut milk with the bits in...its scrummy and a real treat plus some "payback" for the cleaning!!
Will of course post a copy of the cake after all the posting - certainly hope its worth it! Last "feeding" tomorrow and then will post off to csarina who can also give an opinion - assuming it gets there in 1 piece!
Off to have a snooze and then do my own housework before supper.
RE THE PESTO...can someone guide me how many leaves I whizz with the garlic and oil? Dont want to overdo it!!

Sorry about the end of the relationship and the cowardly way he manoevered things.
I can't wait for him to realise (too late) that he has opted for slavery. That boss of his will have him working all the hours God sends.

Hugs to everybody and see you later

    Hi all,
BARGAINBIRD thanks for the pm's. What a lovely boy you have, he's got such a lot of hair and huge eyes. Love the girls in the snow.
SQUIGGLY, What a fit family you are, I don't have the energy to think about keeping fit let alone joining the gym.
STEFJB, A 12 mile hike  It takes all my effort to drive that far.
ESSEX H, DF said there's only beer, which I don't drink, so I have to take wine for me and DH.
REDRUBY, Thanks I'm sure I'll enjoy it once I'm there, it's just the getting ready bit I don't like.
MEANMARIE, I'd lurv to come to your party :D

  • Not alot done here really.

Weather has been a bit drizzly here, so OH got on with some ironing and sorted through the laundry and put away. Upstairs all orderly now:D Couldnt really do the gardening, so maybe he can do some through the week as we need the seeds in:confused:

DD tidied her room and hoovered for me and is going to mop and weed tomorrow as she wasnt too good and had a heap of HW to finish. She dropped her laptop 2 weeks ago and am waiting to see if we are covered by our contents insurance as it wasnt a cheap one and she saved for it by herself. She had loads of work on it, so I am praying that they can restore some of it.

OH popped to Mr S so we dont have to go Monday. I have been indoors and dont intend to go out for a few days as Im just so tired. OH managed to get everything on the list including the red lentils, so will try that recipe this week. Their value peppers at £1.42 are great and you get 6.

Have roasted 2 large peppers, 2 sweet value spuds, 3 value onions, clove garlic and some chilli olive oil and placed in the fridge for the next couple of days. I had a delish Pitta with Houmous & roasted veg for lunch;)....probably cost about 50-60p for the lot. It is so delish cold on a sarnie and good for you too. He bought me some fabulous flowers for £2.88 and they are a big bunch with roses, some big pink flowers, leaves and a wooden flower...excellent value.

DD just being dropped to her mates and wont see her till about 10. Think OH & I will put a film on. He is cooking a lovely Sirloin for dinner (£6) for 2 huge steaks, mushrooms, corn on cob, oven chips, onion rings & salad.

I had a text from a good friend and her husband who is in for an op has had a stroke and am waiting to see how bad it is. Its not looking too good. I think he is in his early 70's. I got him 2 books on history and the war when we were away for him to take in hospital with him as he gets so bored. I hope he is okay. It doesnt rain but pours atm! Feel frustrated because I cant do anything hands on for them. He isnt even in a local hospital. Will arrange practical stuff once I know whats happening.

Anyway, Annie has just finished so am going to have a cuppa tea.

    Hugs to all.

    Hi all

Just heard from DIL they put DGD on nebuliser and it has helped a lot but she is still sleepy not really drinking and has diahorrea. Apparently if she drinks a bottle later she can come home otherwise they are going to feed her intravaenously poor little lamb.

Just settling down to watch the rugby come on England

    Have a good night all

Thinking of you and your DGD Chrisca. They will certainly keep her in as long as she needs it. Nebulisers are great for little ones.
Now you won't want to be my friend Chrisca as I'm going to say come on Ireland :rotfl:. DH is Irish - I'm a Scot so am pleased with today's result for us. Even more pleased as my work colleague is Italian - roll on Monday hehehe
Tea is reheated lasagne from freezer. I've defrosted and posted on 'any questions' link for ideas on how long to microwave it. One is meat portion, the other is veggie - if anyone here can suggest times I'd be grateful. We're having some veggie soup first and I've also got a bag of salad to have with the lasagne so we are getting veg overload today.
Hope everyone has a relaxing evening. I foresee a snooze on the settee.

    Hi guys,

We have not long got home from a very long walk and a picnic up to a gorgeous place called Aber Falls. http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u173/smokybabe/?action=view&current=DSCF0471.jpg (a piccie pinched from photobucket to show you all how gorgeous it is.)

The house was tidied, drying done and put away and a chicken casserole thrown in the SC before we left. Lovely to come home to the aroma and very welcome with some nice crusty bread. Everyone is tired and my brain has just about survived LO's constant complaining. He's just gone off to bed so I should think he'll go straight off. ;):D On the plus side the fares were only £12 to get there - day rovers - and the X service is very quick.

I think another coffee is in order and then throw a hoover around down here and do the dishes. I will sort out the pennies book for the week later with a couple of nice cold ones from the fridge.

Yesterday I chose Eric's headstone and the wording for it and they will send a proof through before they go ahead. It is a lovely one (if they can be), black and then a circular pattern of roses on the inside where the words will go. I was in there for an hour and a half   but the lady was really lovely and helpful. :T :T

Gentle hugs to pen-pin, Chrisca50, Moggins (what a coward he is), MSD and all else in need tonight.

Beth - enjoy your party  I hope the hostesses portions of the chilly are suitably hot :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Have a good night all.

    Hello everyone

I went out into the garden this afternoon and discovered that we've had a visit from the local vandals:mad: It's not much - just some writing in black felt tip on my and my neighbour's shed, and a bit of damage to my shed roof where they had been climbing on it. If I catch the little sh*ts I'll shove their black markers where the sun don't shine - and do the same to their parents. I don't want to look at swear words etc when I look out my kitchen window so I've covered what I can up with black aerosol paint. I was going to go for anticlimb paint, or else put grease all over the roof of my shed, but that would only injure the birds and they are much more important (to me anyway) than these feral teenage brats. I'll have to think of something else to make sure these horrible children keep away. I wish I hadn't moved to this area - I like the house but absolutely cannot stand the neighbours!

Sorry you're feeling down NoahsP'lessMummy - I hope the GP can sort things out for you.

MeanMarie - your OH sounds like a stereotypical Irish man who is as stubborn as a mule. Good luck with him...maybe you could tip the doctor or someone off and get them to raise the issue with him and maybe call it anxiety or stress or something.

I'm not as hopping mad now as I was earlier when I saw the graffiti so maybe I can get organised and do some housework.

One good thing, when I was at B&Q buying the spray paint I found a potted plant arrangement reduced from £10 to £3. It consists of four plants in a nice ceramic pot - one of the plants has little red flowers some of which have gone brown and just needs dead-headed, otherwise it's in perfect condition.

    Gotta go, be good everyone

Chrisca, hugs to your little Grand daughter, I hope she is ok, xx

Had a busy day, OH and I have been out walking, it was beautiful, got home and he hoovered and cleaned the cars, and I re-painted the hallway, I had done it earlier in the week, but i hated the colour, it was supposed to be duck egg blue, but it was far too dark, and made the hallway look terrible, so I have painted over it with white, and it looks much better, might have to do another coat tomorrow.

    Have good evenings all xx
