Morning Lurker
I agree with you re Danny - hmmm, well worth watching for, though I have to say Don is the one that really does it for me!!
I too worked in FS sales for about 15 years, on and off, and was mightily relieved when I was made redundant this time 5 years ago. I was only part time, and received a fairly good payout, and was able to not work for 6 months. However, I decided that I wasn't cut out to be a SAHM, and returned to work full time in local government. It was the best thing I ever did - no pressure to hit sales targets, though I did miss the face to face customer contact intially.
If I were you, I'd look at any job going at the moment - if you're lucky enough to be offered a choice of jobs (FS or not) at least you have options, but if you don't apply for the FS job, you might have nothing0 -
Thank JoKay, impartial advice is very much appreciated - me, OH & my folks are too close to it!
lost most of yesterday as was stressing over dentist appointment, just a filling but thats enough to scare me silly (£60, but can claim that back from HSA). did manage to do most of the ironing last night before having early night in attempt to get rid of the black huge suitcases under my eyes...they are smaller today but still there.
been to job centre to sign on, such a nice place to visit! so time to trawl internet for jobs...anyone got experience of Monster?

Try and time it for Reduced Stuff O'Clock as you will get loads of bargains. I went on Sunday with a friend about half five and got half price tuna steaks and bread for 20p etc. I used to find in my local massive Tesco that about 7.30-8pm you got good bargains too.
M&S late on Sunday afternoon is good too.
I'm such a bargain hunter0 -

The ironing is done!!!!!:j
sometimes i think we should practice naturism at home, less washing & ironing required & would use less water & leccy.......I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Hiya - wow, this is the third diary that I subscribe to where the OP has had toothache or been to the dentist!
We've been looking on Monster too and there are plenty of jobs on there. DH applied for a job direct to the employer (not an agency) and the employer rang him back a couple of days later and asked him to come to an agency. We're not having much luck at the ones through agencies though...Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
saw Star Trek last night, was good but I now have complete geek continuity issues (with the original series)
thought Spock & Bones were great, not quite so sure about James Kirk though....Ambassador Spock rules, always had a bit of a thing for him.....
plan for today is to sort out some more car boot stuff, visit Mr T, clean kitchen floor & make a ouple of phone calls
Also want to close an unused credit card account (having seen Martin on the telly last week).....or maybe even 2.....
Its job day in papers so might find something new to go for
The FS job I've seen doesnt appear to have closing date so will apply for that next week if I don't hear anything from these others which are closer & much prefered - its possibly not the best attitude but I'm ok with it as compromise.....
I've had 3 calls about temporary work from an agency, but didnt pan out, will sign up with another today & look @ Monster.....I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
decided to update sig to make me feel better - made payments last month as if everything was normal.
Don't know what money will get at end of month, I know I'm due expenses & overtime, possibly holiday pay too
Also don't know when statutory redundancy money will be paid, I guess ex-employers will wait until solicitor stops arguing for me
hate this limbo land, can't make plans for anything....I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
decided I need to kick me up the butt..'cept I don't bed that way so a good shaking will have to do!
started off the day with 25 minutes of wii fit, then healthy brekkie & shower
got couple of plants to put in the garden & then I will finish the kitchen (yup, that job that I started over week ago!!!:eek:)
also got couple of bits to put on ebay, will do that this afternoon
May also attempt to put some different music on iPod.....could be interesting!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
