    yesterday was not good
knowing I had to go into the office in the afternoon made me feel sick, couldnt settle to anything
seeing the emails that people had sent following the announcement that I was to be made redundant had me in floods of tears - having been there for 12 years I knew pretty much everyone, I thought (big head I guess) that I was well liked, don't know that I'd realised quite to what extent.
very p*ssed off that I blubbed in front of ex manager though. twit that he is.

I did do a job application. but thats all

feel as flat as a pancake. need to give myself a good shaking & kicking
Moping will not get me a job!

been put forward for temporary job by an agency, but am not hopeful - they want a lot that I've no in experience in although could learn it!
suupose someone has to get it!

had to take something up to OH about an insurance claim so put petrol in (& didnt buy chocolate), then went to vet & bought kitty food - had already got the money out from her account for that, then on to local shop for job paper (spent 37p on that, no chocolate or scratchard which is quite something)
nothin in the paper, but no unessential spends either so could be worse
meeting friends for lunch tomorrow & going out with ma on Saturday - need to purchase a smart but inexpensive interview outfit for when i do get one - having worn uniform for 15 years I have no clothes!
we generally go to an outlet place, which feels like a nice day out, lunch is on whoever doesnt drive......

    Good luck with the interview!!

I can recommend New Look for nice suit jackets - but I have had lovely smart things from Sainsbury's and Tesco before.

    Good luck again!

Hopefully I'm through the worst of the feeling sorry for myself, getting out of the house helped yesterday sooooo much

plan of campaign - while the priority has to be finding a job, staring at the computer for 12 hours a day won't achieve that so I need to balance between the job search & getting on with sorting the house
Don't think I'm going to get a better opportunity !

bed is stripped, mchine should finish load 1 in about 10 minutes so load 2 will go in then
want to take photos of ebay stuff & get that on this afternoon
also going to investigate selling wedding & engagenent rings from first marriage, see no point in keeping them at all!

I am now fully prepared for interview - well at least, I have clothes!
Found 2 suits & my wonderful mum :kisses: insisted on paying for the more expensive of the 2. The one I bought, plus 2 tops totalled £49, not a bad investment.
NOW PLEASE WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO INTERVIEW ME??

pottered in garden on sunday, did the weeks shopping for less than £22!!! :j

then had revelation yesterday morning while OH went to pick his Mum up. showered & dressed, made drink & breakfast - while waiting for kettle to boil emptied the dishwasher, while waiting for eggs to boil, put the milk bottles out, watering plant on way to front door & took recycling out. put dishwasher on its monthly vinegar wash, ate, hoovered living room, fed birds, then reloaded dishwasher.
I think I'm starting to understand how other people seem to make so much more of their time.....

but that was yesterday. today am struggling to find my get up & go. badbadbad.

Hi Lurker, just found your thread for the first time, and am sorry to hear you've been made redundant.

I'm certainly not an expert on employment law matters, but if your redundancy came completely out of the blue (ie, there was no consultation documentation or period), I'm not so sure that your employer (who must be a large company) have followed the correct procedures. As I said, I'm definitely no expert, but my own department has had 3 major restructures in the last 2 years, and we had consultations on all of them.

If that is the case though, I'd look to see if I could up the amount they're offering, but I suggest you ask on here for more information first.

Anyway, will subscribe to your thread - I too am no good at housework, so perhaps you might give me an incentive to get going!!

still not moved from computer - i think its the contact with people that is keeping me here

JoKay - you are right and solicitor has already got an increase in the offer, but work are stating that i asked to be put at risk!!?!?! Somehow I think I'd remember that?? there is potential for tribunal but I am not sure I can handle it & kind of want to draw line under it, the whole thing makes me feel ill

Right, I MUST get my backside off this chair, food then any household chore to loud music is required

If you think you can cope with it, you should take your lawyers advice.

My other half was dismissed from his old job due to absence (They knew he was ill when they took him on, he even had to wait while they did medical reports) and he was covered under Disability Discrimination, but didn't want to take them on. He could have got a payout from them too.

It could be worth it to try and stop this happening to anyone else.

Keep your chin up regardless, have you had your interview yet?

Well I did get the ironing completed, but thats about all!
started on the kitchen yesterday, its still a work in progress which I need to finish by 11
off to solicitor @ 12 to discuss tribunal for unfair dismissal, gulp, OH is coming with me as he's likely to absorb more than I will - so many questions & decisions. I think the timescales will be the deciding factor as we need the payout to live off while I am out of work. I don't want them to get away with it but I have to be practical.
One of the most frustrating things is that OH & I had just started our babyquest journey 4 days before it all happened - that may not have been the most sensible thing to do given debts, but it could easily take another 18 months before we get results so figured we'd start the ball rolling & debt bust in the meantime.
babyquest is now on hold, so currently feels like ex-employer are ruining that dream too grrrrrrrrr

F_F - no interview as yet, just had to make sure I had clothes in preparation....any excuse for a shopping trip!!

yikes, less that 2 hours to complete kitchen quest, getting butt off chair NOW
