I owed £7083. Doesn't seem like that much, but it's nice to know it's gone now. I will however owe 18k when I finish my degree. Ho hum.
Not quite. 25 years and your student fees are wrote off. Some of my daughters mates including herself all have jobs worth less than the £15000 a year the threshold for payments. In some cases a deliberate act, some of them have gone abroad to work in poor countries like this one where they get paid hardly anything. EX : Working in the voluntary sector for Unisef and such other organisations. Some went BR, anything to get out of paying. Bless em.Better to be poor than a slave to wealth

Well I had a tax demand today, much larger than I expected so I've revised my SOA which now shows £180,000.

Hopefully BR on Friday and a new start.
EDIT: I know I did spend the money, and I should take responsibility for my own actions, but I am a little cross that the banks and card companies kept on lending to me ...0 -

Up until very recently, yes! I've kept the various letters with offers of top-up loans (especially from Barclays who were very keen to offer me another £5k) and if the OR says that I was irresponsible to borrow what I did I'll show them these offers and point out that I did refuse credit. I'm worried about getting a BRO so I'm hoping this might help my case.0 -

No loan sharks in sight - I would never and have never used them.
I'm talking about high-street names, Natwest, Barclays, Egg, Lloyds, Citi etc.0 -
