As the title says really, how much have you owed and decided that it was time to go br?

    Currently owing £25k. Looking at possible £40k more landing in my lap shortly. If so, it isn't tenable.

    £43k for me! Just loans and credit cards! No real excuse! Just silliness! :o well that and two unexpected pregnancies which cut back the hours I can work.

    When my job changed from £22K+ down to £17k+ a couple of years ago, the monthly payments of £500 became unachievable.

    I don't think I lived beyond my means, just that my circumstances changed and meant I couldn't make the payments any more.

  • 40,000 due to stupidity and having to come out of work due to illness losing 6,000 a year and unable to repay the debt.
