As I am car-less in central London, the only 2 tescos I can get to are both tesco locals. I am told thewir by the staff that they don't have the policy of accepting other supermarket's coupons, this is restricted large stores, and when I have asked about R&R, the assistnat just voided the item and manually put in the correct price - so is the R&R only in large stores?

am v dissapointed about the voucher thing too...

As far as I am aware the policy applies to any store with the name Tesco. Often at the express or metro sites they don't seem to display the large blue signs behind the counter but a small sign immediately in front of the till, the last paragraph of which is the ....if things don't add up ( see first post.)

Personally I've had r&r at metro's, expresses and even garages.

    Hope this helps.

Are you all sorted beacause I have a question which I asked mid debate :o

I love reading these Tesco threads about mis-prices and would love to do it.

But how do you all go about it?
Do you make a list keep a note of what the shelve price was then check your till receipt?
I would love to know so I can start doing it!

I stopped looking for things named on the misprice thread.

What I do now is use my shopping list...instead of ticking off an item when it goes in my trolley I write down the price on SEL. I then spend a few minutes checking the receipt against my list, then trundle off to CS if needed. I have to say I'm pleasently surprised that my once weekly trip to CS to get R+R has now changed to fortnightly.

I may have to drive another couple of miles to the next tesco in town.;)

Spa2k is one of the most valuable assetts this board has, he has helped me and others obtain R&R by giving advise and clarification of the policy in detail, where store CS staff have refused.

We all know there are awkward CS staff, but we also know how awkward customers can be too.

I agree that this board seems to have as many employees as shoppers but that's democracy for you. I often wonder why they bother as the point of the board, in my view, is to obtain R&R, and I wouldn't read it for fun, although occasionally I do LOL.

Let's have fun and find some freebies - Happy Hunting....

Many managers check this site out (and I dare say, post on it as well) to see what errors are common place within Tesco. They then go back to store and check their place doesn't have the same problem. At least 4 managers from my workplace check this site daily and I believe that is why I have seen where I work, mentioned a few times stating they couldn't find any errors.

The site has been brought to light about 8 months ago when people started getting a little "greedy"....Buying 4 computers (individually...so surely you would see the price error the first time) then asking for the r+r policy to be honoured. We did, by the way, as it is clearly advertised behind the CSD but all it did was to bring a two-fold response by the management team....

    1. Check (more often than company policy) the obvious areas of concern like electrical goods and variable weight products such as meat and poultry.....This has reduced our volume of refunds given to below the company budget for the first time in 3 years.

    2. Follow the wording of the policy to the letter (which we didn't before) such as....you will not recieve a r+r if it is an error is on a leaflet, a banner outside the store or on a hanging board from the ceiling...the policy states you will recieve a r+r if the price is charged incorrectly from the shelf or the product.

Previously we would have given a r+r on any of the above but like anything else in life the minority spoil it for the majority.

I have worked for Tesco for a long time and although I know when it comes down to it I am just a number, I like to think our r+r policy is a good thing that makes us stand out from the rest of the industry. I know that this site is viewed by HO and also know that the policy is being reviewed because of it. I do not think that Tesco will change the r+r but I do think the way in which it is administered will be tightened up in a similar way to the way we have done.

Where else has the same consumer friendly policy? Asda? Sainsburys? Waitrose? Morrisons? Lidl?

also just rang HO about the Motorola v171

Customer service woman read from a script that Tescos had issued regarding the Motorola v171 - this said that as the leaflet was a misprint, I'd been charged the correct price (£49.97) for the phone, that this was not considered by Tescos as an overcharge and the policy did not apply.

I argued that what part of paying £10 over the price I expeced to pay wasn't an overcharge, but she refused to budge, saying over and over again " I've read out the statement to you."

I can see posts on the misprice thread becoming a bit thin on the ground now. ;);)

Me thinks the days of this Misprice thread are numbered! Rather than Tesco employees come on here and insult enthusiastic RNR's as being 'greedy' they should give us all a BIG thank you for keeping Trading Standards off their backs and so saving themselves a small fortune in fines in the process. I'm all for supermarkets, whoever they are, monitoring and keeping their prices correct, so I can be assured Im not being insulted by my ignorance of misprices. I, for one thank everyone who has contributed to this forum by posting misprices and errors by opening my eyes up to way Tesco are neglectful in maintaining correct prices and then trying to placate us with the RNR policy just in case they are found out.

Can't be that 'many managers' checking this site daily. You only have to see the amount of misprices avail to see that. I think that the managers should spend more time organising their staff to work efficiently than relying on an internet site to provide him with errors his staff or company have made. If Tescos are losing too much money through this policy then they should either scrap it or get ther act together and display correct prices. If there were no incorrect prices there would be no need for R&R, personally I think if you have the guts to take 6 of each product for R&R then go for it, why should Tesco publicise a policy and then try and wriggle out of it when it suits them.
