an apology and a small goodwill getsure might have meant this complaint did not hit these boards, and get read by thousands of people. they reckon if you get good service somewhere then you are likely to tell a friend ... but, if you get bad service will tell five. unless you're an MSE'r then you tell several thousand all in one go !!!

    Lets be realistic here.
If every store was completely code checked the likely hood that items out of code would be found in nearly every store. Stores check fresh dailly but we are all human and items do get missed. They shouldnt do but it happens.
Think anout checking every code on every product on every shelf it get so boring after just a few minutes and then the mind wanders and woops you have just missed one!!!

Zorber - you are correct it is tedius however the fault lies with the replenishment of "fresh" goods e.g cheese, yogurts, butters, cakes etc.... We were always told (16 years ago) to rotate the stock i.e. stuff running out shortly bring forward......easy - however there will always be the odd mistake....
What should I put in here that won't upset people.........

Its all those unreasonable customers insisting on buying from the back of the shelf that mess the system up :D

Free From and Organic lines are the biggest headaches - relativly low sales coupled with short code life (no additives, y'see)

Re the misprice post - I see this has been cleaned up with another warning about posting only new misprices - I agree with this in principle as I subscribe to the thread, but sometimes its helpful to get updates on old misprices - especially the ones that aren't obvious when you go instore - for example, the meat misprices are there to be seen on the packaging, but the recent hula hoops reduction (buy two for x amount) can only be done by going through the till - sometimes its helpful to know these things are still around the next day or whatever, so you know beforehand whether the mistake was rectified overnight? As long as its not general chatting, I think this should be allowed?? What do others think?

And, regarding the meat - my Tesco apparently has a "policy" that the SEL is only an indication of the price, and they can sell the packs for whatever they like, because the actual pack price is printed on it. So, if you look at the big special offer label on the shelf that says reduced from £6.00 per kg to £4.50 per kg (or whatever), and pick the goods up thinking you've got a bargain, if the pack was charged at £6.00 per kg, that's correct!!!!!

Apparently they have a notice to bring this to the attention of the public - I know - the CS lady pointed it out to me - its in the middle of an A4 book, under the counter of the CS desk and she just needed to flick through 20 pages or so to find it!!!

The only way I can see a given price being called a "guide" is when that guide is the per Kg price. In other words, if it says "£6.00 per Kg", then this is a "guide" to what you are paying for each full Kg of the product.

Otherwise where does the definition of guide stop? A guide of 1p?

Instead of Beef, Lamb, Pork, etc. just put a guide label with the words "one of God's creatures"

Also, when paying at the checkout, give them a fiver instead of a twenty, and tell them it's not a £5 note, that's just a guide.

I'm glad someone else thinks as I do. I know we get lots of the same items mentioned but it does allow you to see whether it is a localised error or across all the stores. I also find it difficult when someone asks a question, what do you do? ignore the questions, answer and get shot down or wait until someone finds a misprice and hopefully knows the answer to the question?

I agree with Joto and sparky67 so its redfox 1 and insurgents 3.
We do need a little flexibility on the BOGOFs.

  • On the new leaflet thats out for the ' up to £15 off selected phones ' offer there is small print on the back at the bottom that says - All prices and features correct at time of going to print, but are subject to change.
Does this mean that if someone does find a mis-price CS can point this out and say ' this price has now changed, so no refund ' ?

YIPPEE YIPPEE YIPPEE OMG! I have just done my 1st r'n'r. All of it was meat - sirloin steaks, rump steaks, braising steak, pork chops and lamb chops. It could have been so much more but I knew my freezer was quite full so just picked up what I fancied for meals! Because it was my first time after reading this thread for weeks, my nerves were going, I was shaking, so I double checked it all to make sure I was not going to make a mistake and get embarassed. C/S was very nice, called meat manager over to check it all out - Im suprised he didnt need a stretcher because nearly all his Dept was wrong except for 25% chicken and ready priced mince! R'n'R no problem (£24.00) and some nice meals coming up. Thanx Mr T. :j
