Earlier in the week i too purchased the goodmans dvd recorder with a sel showing 84.99 but was charged 99.99 .
The CS person told me he resented people trying to obtain free goods using the r+r policy.
He also mentioned i had " done this before ", i replied " yes i have been overcharged before " lol
Needless to say i didnt get the r+r and was fairly embarrased by his comments.
I did go into this particular tescos daily to buy my lunch but wont anymore.
For the record i have only ever tried one r+r in this store before and was refused on that too by the same CS person.
You should write a letter of complaint to the managing director complaining about abusive CS and being over charged and store not following company policy."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
spa2K,
"Personally I disagree with the reason used for not giving the R&R however, the "are we expected to read what we are buying before we buy it" claim doesnt ring true. Enough of the SEL was read to see that it related to the product being bought so why not the date displayed on it?".
spa2k,the dates are far too small to be read/noticed by your average customer. My Mrs for example cannot read the expiry date(without glasses),though she can see the price which is obviously significantly larger.0 -

I did think about complaining about the CS persons attitude towards me but i would feel very bad if they got into trouble . I feel sorry enough for them as it is as they take life too seriously lol.0 -

By writing a letter of complaint, you are encouraging tesco to improve the customer service that is offered. If the member of staff is either spoken to or disciplined regarding their attitude then other customers won't have to suffer what you went through.
There is no excuse for poor service and it needs to be corrected.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

The SEL in my case was on the very bottom shelf, I assume I am expected to get down on hands and knees to read the very small expiry date.Smoke me a kipper. I'll be back for breakfast!!!0

I think that we are over exaggerating here. Even with my short sight, i can read the expiry date on labels on the base shelf from standing. What it boils down to is that people arent reading the labels and those that are are clearly aware that the offer may have expired and therefore want R&R. Fair play, the label shouldnt be there!!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Do you think it is fair to say that the majority of products obtained through R&R because the offer date has expired but the label is still out would not ordinarily been bought but the person getting it has been more than aware that the offer has ended?Auntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0

I think its irrelvevant if a person knows the offer has expired and is trying for a r+r .
Its tesco policy to r+r and CS or store manager's job to comply with the head office directive whether they agree or disagree.
If i and others can enter a Tescos store and find misprices the question begs who isnt doing there job correctly.
No misprice = No r+r0 -

Savingsgirl,as Dude said in a earlier post "each to their own".Some people go in there looking for misprices others dont,if we were all the same life would be boring.Personally i will only take what i need & leave it if im not bothered, but i have no probs with anyone who chooses to do it in a different way.

Um hum... the point I was trying to make was that is the size of the wording of the SEL is irrelevant as most obtaining RR will have made sure that it was out of date anyway. I was not casting judgement.Auntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0
