zorber wrote:No not at all although it is useful for the above, anyone who is being dishonest isnt likely to qive their correct details.
It is designed so staff cannot just give refunds to them selves and member of staff filling out multiple forms can be caught out by their hand writing etc and signature, in some supermarkets any items over a value have to be countersigned by management.
This is also a reason we ask customers to fill out their details for a refund where i work, to check the staff are not doing refund fraud. But i often have customers refuse to give their details which is fine as it is their choice, it just does not look good for the member of staff doing the refund!0 -
zorber wrote:They do not know who is doing r&rs. They do not ask for your clubcard when you go for the refund and you keep original reciept.
Thanks for that, previously people were worried that they would eventually have their clubcard taken off them for doing repeat r&r`s as they said it came up on the screen when the refund was being done?, that is why someone said to only use cash and not hand over your clubcard when you know you have an r&r. Well i am glad i decided to carry on using my clubcard even if i had r&r`s as otherwise i would have missed out on my points for all my usual shopping! It would look quite strange if i paid for most of my shopping by card and used my clubcard then handed over something that may have been a misprice at the end and say i wanted to pay in cash and did not want to use my clubcard! :T0 -

and that was the exact quote on the picture
it was at Mr Ts Leyland
not overly bothered by it, but it has put me off actively looking for R+Rs at this store
specially as my place of work is directly opposite the store
The only photographs a store can have are of convicted active criminals and they have to be issued by the police and there are strict rules about who sees them and where they are kept in the store etc. If a shoplifter has not been convicted of an offence for a period of time, i think it is 6 months, then their photograph cannot be kept in the store anymore, they are not considered "active" anymore and are free to do what they like and not have shop employees, management or anyone look at their photograph to then look out for them in their store. So to take a picture of an r&r`r, well basically a completely innocent person as the last i knew this was not a criminal offence, and display it for staff to see is totally against the law.0 -
spa2k wrote:For the most part i agree with you, however i do have a degree of sympathy for the poor assistants that have to change all those darn labels and pos material. The number of labels that need changing in a week is simply astounding and although it shouldn't happen it it totally understandable when a few go astray.
That said, there is no excuse for some of the misprices that i have seen mentioned on these boards.
Yes it is stupid. Although our chains has started trials on electronic Sel. Which mean the sel (lcd display)will always show the price the computers are charging and the only time it will get it wrong is if the wrong product is put in front of the wrong sel. I also beleive other chains are trialing this technology.
so in a few years time R & R will be obsolete"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -

it looks like bad news for r+r's but there maybe a power cut

Tesco Rochdale, I spent £51.43, but used SAINSBURY'S spend £50, get £10 off hence paid £41.43. Got r+r on 4 x 4.99 beef joints and 3 x £1.69 on baking potatoes, r+r £25.03, total spend £16.64 LOL. Has anybody ever got back more than they spend by using vouchers?
A bit of a side issue - but do Tescos take Sainsburys spend x get x off vouchers then?? Are there any other voucher cross-overs I should be aware of (being a bit of a voucher virgin!)0 -

I am told that Tesco is using this technology in Calais.0 -

Well the member of security staff I was with at the time just laughed about it and stated that it was just some members off staff got annoyed when customers knew their rights.
He removed the photo, folded it up and used it as note paper, so it wont exist anymore
If I hadnt been in the security office I wouldnt have known it was there anyway, I wouldnt be suprised if this goes on all over0 -

I'd like to see them use whopping great big LED/LCD posters for promos and the like. :-) Fancy a few of those hanging over the isles ?0 -
Foreign Stores have been using Electronic SEL for a number of years.
I dont think it will be years by the time Tesco implements these into stores in the UK, more like months.
Perfect solution to the R&R problem - and they dont have to get rid of the policy.0
