But one thing I bought was a bag of Potatoes (Bakers) went to use them that evening and several were bad on the inside. So Saturday I took them back, CS lady looked at them and said they were frosted! would report to HO, asked for my name address and phone number which I gave, she said that would be emailed straight to HO. I had no apology, was given my money back. This happened to me at Asda last year and I had an apology money back and a replacement product. I thought it would have been nice for Tesco's to have given me another bag of potatoes and an apology, is this the usual treatment from Tesco?

What happens is when you return a product to us is we fill in a Product Report (RP125). This is when your details were taken down. It automatically sends a digital copy of the report to Dundee whom then contact the supplier on your behalf.
The specimen of the product which is kept in-store, frozen, is then sent to the supplier along with a copy of the report.
Instore, you should have received an apology. However, even as a manager when I've worked on the desk at times you don't give an apolgoy but your not being ignorant, for example if the customer is being really chatty and friendly and just simply wants the product replaced and because your in genral conversation you forget too.
Instore the default procedure is to offer the customer their money back. The supplier/manufacturer once they have tested the product in their labs then contact the store and our customer service centre with their findings. The supplier/manufacturer can contact the customer and sometimes send them a voucher or coupon.0 -
Shelves 100% correct with the 25% meat discount in our store today.:T
However, they were focussing so much on getting the joints, steaks and chops discount right that a ready to roast lemon and garlic chicken slipped through the radar.:doh:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

This didn't happen with my manky chicken, I was just handed the cash back and receipt marked. No name/address or clubcard details taken.
I'm sure all the staff at your store are aware of the procedure, but there does seem to be glaring holes in the training of CS staff at some stores.0 -
Check out the up to 25% off meat stuff today. Nothing doing as far as i could see. seem to have been very efficient with their labelling on this one. Although i only checked the SEL against the pack price. if you scan it does it give you the pack price or price per kilo? Not sure if i have the mental capacity to work out if i have been overcharged if it is just giving me the pack price. lol.credit card debt at LBM Nov 2006 £11,300:eek:

Does anyone know what they mean by bulk purchase?? From what i can see I could have bought steak, a joint of beef, 24 cans of coke, 2 x 12 packs of skips or hula hoops, cheese, and a dvd player and i'd have used up my quota of r & rs before i had even attempted to buy anything i didnt know was overpriced. Is a weekly shop classed as a bulk purchase??0

A bulk purchase polciy limits people fromy buying more than 6 of the same item.
This is quite commonly seen in stores where people will buy stock from Tesco when on 'Buy One Get One Free', and sell it on at full price. This is why the bulk purchase policy is only enforced in certain stores.
Whilst I remember, there is a nation wide policy of maximum of 10 items.0
