  • Hi all,

I know this is going to sound really dim, but I have been following the threads on Tesco matters...and I really hate having to ask :embarasse but can someone tell me what r&r means. In my excuse, I'm very new to this site and have been watching incognito, but have finally taken the plunge to post a few things.

    cheers to everyone

Refund and retain........Mr T refunds , you retain the goods. :D
  • Thankyou so much Liverbird, but perhaps i'm really really being dim here, but why do people want to buy stuff they don't really want, what is the gain in that, cos then ur stuck with stuff u don't want. I understand the food stuffs, etc cos ur always gonna need that sort of thing.

Oh well, perhaps i'm a slow learner, I will catch on!!

the less scrupulous amongst the readers will get loads of stuff, yes, because it's free and so they can sell it on.

You only need to check ebay out after there's been a misprice posted on here to see what a lot of people are up to

Yes, but loads of things are free. Look at leaves that fall from the trees - people don't go out and fill their cupboards with those :)
Some people on here say (quite often) that it's "human nature" but if that were the case there wouldn't be any questions like the one you responded to.
It could a similar motive to those parents who make sure their children always have this year's "hard to get toy", whether they want it or not!

Sorry - bit of amateur psychology there :o
    Can I help?
  • Hi all,

I guess I understand now what is going on, just had heated discussion with OH over this r&r thing, he gets it  I just don't see the point in going to all that effort when u don't really want the stuff, I see the point if you really want it!! Maybe i'm just from another planet than everyone else  maybe I will get the point soon......OH thinks its an ace idea btw.
I will continue to watch this thread with interest

I think it's more a "well, I'd kind of half think about buying that for myself/ for a gift etc, but there's nothing to entice me".... and then when you realise it's free it's game on for young and old! And then there's stuff that although you might not want you know should be easily marketable for a reasonable profit (like phones and other electrical goods)

    Or something!
    Shuffle up and deal!
  • Thanks Doogie for being patient with me....lol....
I sometimes see where people are coming from with this, and sometimes I don't, I'm having a battle in my mind, and my mind is not that good these days, so I'm told, long and boring story, but thankyou all of you on here, for not taking the mickey out of me!!

cs_guy thanx for the info, the items are exactly as i purchased them (seal intact)
If it's not possible for them to do it then fine as i did throw the receipt awaybut as soon as i approached the cs desk and said i wanted to return the phones the cs person said "we don't do refunds on mobile phones"

I don't usually buy electrical items from tesco and i had gone in for my weekly shop, i just threw the receipt away as i unpacked the shopping, i know stupid of me but hey its a learning process lol

Also i paid in cash and didn't have my clubcard with me so i doubt they will trace it but thanx anyway

still worth a try if you an remember the date and approx time
