If it's not possible for them to do it then fine as i did throw the receipt awaybut as soon as i approached the cs desk and said i wanted to return the phones the cs person said "we don't do refunds on mobile phones"
I don't usually buy electrical items from tesco and i had gone in for my weekly shop, i just threw the receipt away as i unpacked the shopping, i know stupid of me but hey its a learning process lol
Also i paid in cash and didn't have my clubcard with me so i doubt they will trace it but thanx anyway
Your Welcome.
Out of interest, when the store said they do not do refunds on phones, had they been told by yourself that they were un-used and still in the box un-oepend? As they might have been confused and thought you had used it once or twice and didn't like it! Either way they do reund phones, just ones that are un-opened with proof of purchase.
Since you paid by cash without a clubcard it is very unlikely they will look unless you can provide an exact date, time and checkout number. As the way the system works if that they need to go through every trasaction for every till individually.
Ask to speak to the hardlines manager, he/she might be willing to give you an exchange for other electrical goods or a moneycard.0 -
Can I ask, If there is an incorrect sel and, a correct one displayed elsewhere in the store can they refuse a r & r??
I was refused an r & r today (Nanny McPhee) as the correct sel was displayed elsewhere, I did ask where in there policy it stated this but as I had a r & r on 48 cans of coke I didnt want to push it.0 -

Doesn't matter if there are 2 or a hundred different prices - if they don't charge the lowest displayed then they've contravened trading laws and a r&r should most certainly apply. No 2 ways about it.0 -
Thanks for that. I will remember it for future r & rs, I dont think i will bother persuing the Nanny McPhee route, just possibly go in and clear them out of Technika dvd players and disney dvds for the kids lol0

Ha Ha. that might have been me. I checked the top 40 cd's and the top 90 dvds last week in Newton Aycliffe store, but they were all correct. they are pretty hot on that stuff since I had a few R & R's out of them !! They used to display the top 40 chart cds poster with prices on for new entries and special offers. have noticed they are now unpriced. Boo hoo. So no dvds or cds for me last week. Still caught them on 6 x 24 can packs of coke and diet coke though. 144 cans of pop. yipee! that saved us a few quid. total R & R was still over £53 including the winnie pooh cake and purple ronnie book. One SA lady just smiled and said, wow you've had a good day then - haven't you? CS always nice and polite, but always try to refund me the difference. I just smile and nod towards the policy poster, and say " Oh, i think it should be a full refund, shouldn't it". then they go ... "Oh, yes... silly me, what was i thinking...of course it should." Ha ha . Brilliant game of cat and mouse.
I'm sure when they see me come in they will start stalking me around the store to see what I'm picking up, then price check it themselves before I get to the tills.credit card debt at LBM Nov 2006 £11,300:eek:
credit card debt now £0000000000000!!! :j

Sorry just a bit confused and wanted to clarify.
How do the scanned prices & SEL's work store to store. Are the scanned prices the same for all products (apart from where individual stores discount) and the SEL's what the responsibility of the individual stores.
So, for example, Product X say a camera not on offer should be the same price at all stores as scanned data is held centrally? If one particular store then displays the wrong price it's only going to be incorrect in this stores (provided all other stores have the correct SEL) since scanned data (prices) are held centrally?
Or does each store hold their own scanned data prices?
