Seems that 2 wrongs dont make a right. In my book they morally do.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances:
For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Thanks, I think I will go for the refunds on the clean receipts, and give away the other phones to friends/colleagues. They don't seem to have much ebayable value......

i dont understand why people get multiple items of something they dont want??? dont get me wrong i also got ONE of these phones but only because my daughter wants a phone, and it will do nicely for a 10 yr old,i cant my head around why people go through the hassel of getting r&r for no reason.

oh and i also think getting money back on something you didnt pay for is takin the p**s a tad

but each to their own

The trouble is that intentionally getting something for nothing is morally wrong as well. Once Tesco's policy has allowed them to do this it becomes hard to say what is OK to do with it afterwards.
Is it OK to use the phone?
Is it OK to give it as a present?
Is it OK to sell it on eBay in exchange for money?
Is it OK to sell to a shop for money?
Is it OK to return to Tesco for money?
Where do you draw the line? I'd never intentionally seek an R&R in the first place (but would stick to my guns if overcharged) but I know that different people have different moralities and different beliefs as to what 'human nature' entails.
Can I help?
• I found the phone and leaflets today together in Tesco at Brent Park (A406 near IKEA). When I took the little CD case thingy to the till, the SA told me I had to pay for it at customer services, so took it there. On the poster, under the "In the unlikely event...." line, was a printed label which said " Not applicable to promotions". I didn't pursue it, thinking this was a policy change, but in Watford later, there was no such sign.

This would be a way for Tesco to keep the R and R policy but exclude the situations where they fail to take down signs etc on dated offers. It would also exclude errors on bogof. What do you think - sneaky huh?

Thats strange. I haven't heard of that yet so I'll go and have a peek at the official stuff thats sent out to stores tommorow maybe. I wonder if its the local management trying to cut down on R&R's as stuff coming off promotion but the labels staying up is probably a big cause of overcharges. My first impression is that its abit of a sneaky way to get around giving out R&R's in many cases. Its a shame there is no way to tell how many R&R's are normal customers just doing their shopping and how many are R&R hunters.
• Got two of the phones tonight from the Oldham stoe in the Chadderton area, although upon producing the leaflet the manager said all leaflets were removed yesterday due to a printing error. I politely told him I would get him 200 leaflets from in the store to which he replied...'where exactly in the store did you get them from?' to which I didn't answer and proceeded to obtain the stash still left there. I returned to CS desk only for him to grumpily admit defeat and refund me the £100. Needless to say all leaflets have now been removed rather swiftly.
Earlier today in the Rochdale store ( and forgive me if this has already been posted) we got hold of the Premier 5mega pixel cameras mispriced at £31.97 on the yellow poster. SEL shows £39.97...got full R+R and CS lady removed yellow poster...keep yer eyes peeled for this onle guys!
None available in , Oldham, Stalybridge or TESCO Extra in Seacroft Leeds today
• today i got the motorala phone charged 49.97. brought a leflet in which i got last week at this store.
went to c.s. desk and said i been overcharged.
offered £10 differance back.
said what about the policy.
sorry no refunds here must go to the electrical desk and ask there. bloke there told me there was no lefllets instore where had i got it from. i said here last week. back to c.s. desk
manager came said it was a pricing error and the leflet did not count offered me £the differance on a money card would not let me ring h.o. said they had told the store to distroy all the lefflets. and i had no other choice so i accepted.
this had made me ANGRY

they had forgott to put overcharged on the receipt.
went to another tescos down the road and got a full refund.
thanks mr t for not keeping to policy.
i don't half love a freebie

Tesco Brent Park have had this sign up for a while and they use it all the time, I got refused a refund on a game with an everyday low price sticker because the CS said this was a promotion. I just got the game refunded in the end as the CS are really difficult to get a R&R out of. One time I was surrounded by managers argueing that I couldn't have a refund on a packet of bacon because it was a flash pack and they can legally charge the price on the packet and not on the sel.
