Sunny thanks for asking. Just back and very tired. will post about this on the thread tomorrow. I am beyond shattered and also very angry as the dole have decided to call me in for interrogation on Saturday. I get the letter today after their office is shut and I just can't go then as I have to catch a train from Central London at 10 and they want me in at 9.40. I have NEVER heard of them hauling you in at weekends before in all my years of signing on experience. I thought your weekends were your own , out of office hours etc. Still I am due to sign on anyway tomorrow so will have to plead my case with them. I just can't make it then as I have arranged to go away for the weekend and they say they will stop your money if you do not attend??

Evening all
I've had a nightmare of a day today, started on the way to work when a local idiot drove behind me all the way to work, flashing his light & honking his horn, very intimidating. He does this 2 or 3 times a week, even though I now vary my leaving times.
Once I got to work, I was offered some help, great, as I'm really busy. Only then a staff member comes in yelling & screaming, she thinks it should have been her decision whether or not I was given help. She feels her toes are being stepped on! Then I was asked by a school governor to photocopy some documents & keep them secret from the head. Well I'm damned what ever I do, I know what is going on, but the governor thinks because I do a menial job that I'm stupid. I hate office politics.
Well I've waffled on for long enough, I've done no OS today, but hubby painted the front bedroom with paint leftover from another room.

Must admit it sounds a bit unusual for civil (or should it be uncivil) servants to be working and acknowledging the public on a Saturday.....? Could they have got the date wrong?

My friend had her interview last Saturday. I think they're feeling the strain due to all the redundancies etc so they're doing longer hours. I work for a non-DWP department, and some of our field offices have been switched to being DWP to help with the increase in workload.

I have new carpet with underlay & an extra desk as recommended by occ health, I also have new lighting, that was not on the list, I have 6 daylight tubes in my room & am considering wearing sunglasses to work, lol. Most of the other recommendations have been delayed/postponed due to 'budget constraints', allegedly I will be getting air extract, but don't know when. The bursar didn't seem keen on the new layout but has let it stay.

Not my week....closed the back door on my right index finger earlier, took an inch of skin and flesh off just at first joint so am seriously handicapped...OH took over cooking of dinner as it was still throbbing madly at that stage...has settled a bit now except when I bend the finger, can't knit, would like a bar or two of chocolate but its Ash Wednesday and I have had my dinner!

Think that I will just go to bed early and read for a while.

Sybil...take care of yourself pet, try to get some fresh air to-morrow, it will help, even if its only 15 minutes.

Looking at prices, glad that we don't have to pay for water here yet.

Evening gang, Very small post as I have tried three times today and my puter keeps freezing whenever I press the thanks button.
I am having a somewhat difficult day. Mark is very poorly which always makes me unsettled given his medical history. Thankfuly our GP(he changed to mine) is fantastic.

Have only skimmed today's posts as I am STARVING but haven't broke my fast.(am having water though) Not strong enough to read all the delights that no doubt are gracing all your tables!!
Been to church and offered it for everyone on here.

Someone mentioned Whatatwit. Thanks for that. She will be pleased. She doesn't come on here anymore but regularly goes on DFW. However, she had some very sad news on Monday and is very busy with her family. I spoke to her yesterday, and will text her later to tell her she was asked about.
Anyway, Please take care, will post a longer and more comprehensive post tomorrow.(Mark permitting-fingers crossed)

Marie - ouch! Finger sounds sore and by the sounds of it you've not had a good week at all - thinking of you.... I hope that the book is good?

Thriftlady - I hope that you've had a lovely day off with your DH to celebrate your anniversary. Hope the meal and bottle of wine was good :beer:

Had a busy day and as a result, tea was a scramble in the freezer - ended up with moussaka which was very tasty with some salad.

It's turned really windy here this evening and some of the showers are really sharp hail.

I should really be studying, I've got exams on Monday and I'm so not motivated for them. Too old for this studying malarky
