    Welcome Yorkshire Celt

At work again, very late home last night too after my experiment failed *sigh* I am so tired.

OH wants to go and see another flat tonight but I don't want to. Our contract isn't up until the end of April, but he got all ancy when I asked him to phone and ask them about the time scale they had for letting. There is no point us going to see it if they want someone straight away.

Dinner will be whatever is in the fridge as I really can't be bothered to cook at the moment.

Have a good day all, cel x

  • Morning all! Hope all ok, welcome to Yorkshire Celt, you'll find us a very friendly bunch!

Not got too much to day today, done school run, just catching up on my caffeine intake before I take YD to swimming lesson. I seemed to make loads of pancakes last night with varying success I think it was left too long. Me and the kids made the batter about 4ish and left it to sit I made some for the kids and myself at 5ish and they were lovely and then made another batch for OH and DB who was visiting about 8ish and they were a disaster! Apparently tasted ok but just kept tearing so I couldn't turn them without landing up in a mess! OH said they weren't pancakes but panmesses! Cheeky B*gger:D
Do you think it could be because the mixture wasn't put in the fridge or because it sat too long or because I'd added a little more milk for second batch as they were a little thick and OH prefers thin pancakes?! Usually they are ok, worked fine a couple of weeks ago when we had them for brekkie! Oh well.

Not sure what to do for dinner tonight, I menuplan and I had something on the plan which now I've checked the recipe is more for using up leftover mince rather than the prestine unadultered pack of mince I've just got out of the freezer. We never have 'naked' mince in this house, its always pre-cooked with lentil, soya mince, carrots etc and then portioned out. I won't have time to do that today as the mince has only just come out of the freezer so not sure now. About the only thing I use mince like this for is to make beefburgers so I might do that. Watch this space.....

Other than that I need to clean YD bedroom which doesn't take too long. I've been using ChoreBuster.net to manage what to clean when and I have to say it really suits me & mine. I always need direction to get going otherwise I'd do nothing so a plan for cleaning is great especially as its so personal, e.g. I have to sweep & mop the floor every other day otherwise it gets really manky esp round the table but I ALWAYS forget. Its amazing how you can turn a blind eye to most things isn't it!!!:o Now I get an email reminding me what to do today! Also got WM on which means ironing tonight when kids in bed, anything good on tv tonight??

So I have a date with a duster, so to everyone either a  or a :grouphug: which ever you need!!!! Check in later

oh how awful just watching sky news and they say David Camerons son has passed away...
What an awful thing for them to have to deal with
  • Thanks for the lovely welcome. Going to change walk today so I don't go past cafe and feel compelled to buy coffee and scone. Will have coffee at home instead. Must be getting abit better as I starting t notice what a bad shape the house is in. Looks like I will have to make a list of 'things to be done' as am poor at remembering things at the mo. Thrilled with the panny, looks like only used once. Mum says I can have her mixer and electric knife as she does not use them, so things are looking up. Have learned so much from you lot.
Celyn, hope you are home earlier tonight and manage to get a rest.x
Not learned how to do smilies etc yet, so lots of friendly hugs to everyone.

Well, I had BIG plans about taking little bear out today, except... he's tired, I'm tired, he's got a green nose, I have wimmins tummy ache, there's loads to do in the house, my back is killing me...

So I have decided that after lunch we will go for a little walk on the reins instead BUT I have to do some serious Old Style to compensate. I hope I will be on here again later with an impressive (for me) list. I am going to start by going round and just seeing what can be thrown out. That should make the house seriously lighter.

Little bear had a great time yesterday at the 'movement' class. The leader said he was very confident and co-ordinated. Little bear doesn't seem to understand 'nervous' and was climbing and rolling and skidding around. He had such a marvellous time that he is exhausted this morning. Next week is something to do with glue - I missed exactly what but I need to take along a change of clothes for him.

Yorkshire Celt - welcome to a very lovely lot of people. Hope you get out for a lovely walk.

Sunnygirl - it is so good to hear how well things are going for you.

Weezl - home birth -:eek::eek: The thought of that terrified me, I wanted a hospital and all that went with it :o Fingers crossed for you, but I am sure it will be brilliant.

    Hugs to all.

Morning all...................((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.

For those of you who are interested in the Amish I have found a blog page on which there are links down the lefthand side to various articles or photographs pertaining to Amish life.

    http://amishamerica.typepad.com

Hopefully this is the link to an article I just read about an Amish couple moving into their own home after their wedding.

Late up this morning, slept quite well, OH is still in dreamland........Have just had my cereal and first mug of coffee.

Yesterday we took delivery of a new kettle from the Ethical Electrical company, it has two functions, it can store up to 7 cups of water, but has a second chamber in which you can boil from 1 to 7 cups of water......quietly and quickly.........our old kettle we bought whilst we were still living in Hampshire 10 years ago:eek:   .....yikes where did the time go........at that time it was 'the latest thing' but boy was it noisy boiling, we could hear it upstairs in the toilet. The new one is so quiet you can hardly hear it when standing next to it!!!:T :T

Ironing is the job for today, have still not got over thre fact that I forgot to do the ironing last time..........ssssssssssoooooooooo..................watch out iron here I come.

Its a dullish morning, hopefully will get OH out after lunch, Chicken something tonight, will take all the remaining meat off the chicken from Sunday and put the carcass in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes, then cool it and skim the fat before freezing it, thats if I can find enough room for it after yesterdays shopathon.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Morning all,

I've been up ages and done a pile of ironing for DD2 and Sil2b as well as ours.
Chocolate cake in the oven for Sil2b's birthday tomorrow. I'm going to take DH to B&Q so I can get 10% off the paint I need to finish decor in the house to let and DD's 2 rooms. Went and bought material for 2 pairs of curtains and 12mtrs of blackout lining, the lining was £5.95 a mtre, is that expensive? seemed so to me. Anyhoo I'll be busy sewing this w/end.
Oh my hols seem a lifetime ago but we've only been back less than a week.

DD2 has a M/wife app at 3pm and has asked if I'd like to go along to hear the heartbeat. OH YES PLEASE. :D Y/day DD grabed my hand and put it on her bump and I felt an almighty kicking, brought tears to my eyes.
WEEZL, only 7 more days for you and 13 for DD2, she's having a home birth also and it's her first. I'm sure someone else is due soon as well as CANDYGIRL'S DD (where are you Candy?)

HI :hello: LOOBY LOU, RUTH AND YORKSHIRE CELTIC, you're gonna luv it here.

SUNNYDAY, enjoyed your posts but feel for your DF loosing their home.

BARGAIN, Love the plaques, made me laugh thanks I needed one. :rotfl:

PEN PIN, I do hope you'll soon be on the mend. Good to see your posts again.

Noticed quite a few regulers missing, has something happened?

MEANMARIE, MORWENNA, JACKI O, SMOKY (((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

Not OS but for all friends who have enquired, DB2 has had his app to see Consultant about the Melanoma brought forward a week, he goes on Fri am.
Crossed fingers and all prayers gratefully appreciated. I'm hoping the 50/50 odds he was given has swung in his favour.
