Just wondering if anyone has advice about how much you can save using a water meter, our annual statement has arrived, it's about the only thing I haven't had a go at cutting yet!

I depends on how many in the household and how much watering of a garden you do, also depends on whether you bath or shower, and the frequency. That aside for the 2 of us, we have saved loads, especially now we are not at home all the time. Also I think the water board do an offer where if you are not happy, you can change back, the only condition is that if you sell the house the next owner has to go on a meter.

Bethebee - Ta da, yes it was me. We called him Spike, he was 8lb 3oz, born 35wks 6days. Waters broke at 12.30pm dad took me to hospital (as it was early, bombed out on my homebirth). Got to hospital at 1.50pm, Richard arrived at 3.15pm. Spike got his shoulders stuck (sorry to scare anyone or anyone eating their tea), panic button got whacked, deluge of people ran in and out he came.....4.25pm and relax ......:o

Purpleivy - Our last bill £241.00ish, for june to jan plus we had a water leak for 3months we knew nothing about. Thats 2 adults 2 now 3 kids. Dog washing etc etc

presuming on a meter? Ours will be Water/Wastewater £445 for the year on bill. We are 3/4 at home, rare baths, usually shower, no garden watering, occasional car wash, but that won't make a lot of difference. Just found a calculator on internet!

    Hello everyone

I wish I could say that I walked, but no, I'm out on the pretext of an appointment elsewhere. So that means an extra extra long lunchbreak - am going to go back for about 2.30pm or 3.00pm. I mentioned to someone in the office this morning that I am hoping that The Old Bag phones the agency and enquires about getting someone else - that would suit me fine. I hope that this has been added to the office grapevine.

The cats are delighted to see me. They will be even more delighted in a minute or two when I crack open a tin of Kitekat.

I heard on the radio about David Cameron's son. How awful for their whole family - we are all human no matter how rich, famous or powerful we might be.

Welcome Yorkshire Celt, you'll enjoy it here.

Better push off now, bye bye.

  • Hello:j

What awful news about David Camerons son...so terrible for them. My son is 5 and a half and disabled so it feels very close to home:rolleyes: ...I really don`t know how people get over the death of their child...am sure all our prayers are with them.

DS back at school today:D he went along quite happily. His one to one worker is now taking him in the library opposite his class every morning to do a learning game with him....first day of that and it worked:T . He had been getting very upset when I left him in the morning due to being overstimulated and too much noise which he cannot deal with.
My back is loads better too!
2 lots of washing done and dried and beds stripped. Huuuuuuuge pile of ironing I keep putting off but may have to knuckle down tonight:eek: .

Cheese and poppy see loaf dough in the Panny and putting corned beef hash in oven for tea. DS will probably want sausage and mash, he is not flexible at all lol. Had to go and buy a Bonne Maman strawberry jam earlier as Asda online dont have them and he viewed the Extra Special conserve with suspicion earlier( he didnt see the jar) he smelt it and tasted it and declared that something had gone wrong:rotfl: .D&DD maybe he should get together with your DS3 and market these skills, they could make us a bomb!!

Huge tuna salad for lunch and really enjoyed it:D

hugs to all who need them, must go and mold this dough into some sort of shape:rolleyes:

We had a water meter at our old house and had one fitted here when we moved in my bill is around £100 per year....BUT remember we have a laundry so we pay so much towards the water bill for the complex........in our rent.

When we were in the house we paid around £25 a month for water which was a deal cheaper then the water rates.......shower each per day, washing machine, dual flush toilet andcareful use of water for washing up etc....
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Afternoon all.

    Happy Anniversary Thriftlady.

Pen-Pin Hope you’re having a better day today.

Betheebee I will cross my paws for your DB2’s appointment on Friday.
Celyn I’ve just had a look at Chorewars; I think this might be for me, being an inveterate RPG gamer.:j

I’ve been trying to get in a bit of driving practise ready for our trip to Orkney at the end of May; Mr LW asked me to drive to the pub last night, and carefully didn’t mention that a bird had done doo-dobs on the car windscreen, just above where the wipers can reach. :eek:It was really distracting. I made him get a wet cloth and clean it off when we got to the pub.

Well, I must get me bum off the sofa. I've made some pastry for a quiche, have left it resting, but now I really must go and get it filled and baked. I'm ashamed to admit that nowadays I use the food processor to make the pastry - the ol' paws are simply too far gone to do it by hand.

((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.

I don't think they ever do. It's something they'll always have to bear that will tinge every single day, every happy occasion. I think we are all thinking of them and their family.
