I am expecting delivery tomorrow morning. I have just called tesco's main online help number. The person i spoke to was very vague about what the standard procedure is, but basically he said that Tesco do not debit your card until the order has been picked and that the price you pay is the CURRENT in store price. He said that if it is a special offer that has expired when you receive delivery you will pay the higher price hence the reason why they state that it is a guide price. I also asked about costs if I refused delivery and he said that if the whole delivery is refused then I would be refunded the whole cost including delivery charge. He also suggested that if a problem occurs that i ring CS before the delivery driver leaves. The number i called was 0845 7225533.
Does not sound that promising to me. But nothing to lose as long as delivery is not accepted until the price is confirmed.0 -
After speaking with them just now, they have acknowledged the site did show £5.01 and as my confirmation also showed that, then they will honour the price and credit back the difference. We shall see.
You are a star jon-e-boy, cheers. Coo, that tastes strong!0 -
......but some have said delivery not refunded!
So if you ordered a DVD player from then and they charged 3x as much after being sent confirmation of the price I think you wound expect a full refund inc delivery. Groceries are no different. Distance selling regs still apply.Cheers

agree completely that delivery should be refunded too
just wanted to add that this was a great find by the way and i've ordered some myself...i'm just offering some advice on where people stand on the matter...it's good to see that some people are getting there's @ £5.01 even though tesco aren't obliged to honour this price ;D...don't mean to step on any toes0 -

Just checked the mail and picked this up:
'My Favourites'. It allows you to reorder anything you have ever bought from us before with a single click of the mouse.
Do you think I should add Smirnoff Blue 1 Litre? ;D
