It is very easy for the buyer to set up a new address, I have loads on Amazon from aunts, mum, my sons etc and if I buy a book I just get it sent direct to whoever asked me to buy it. You can only opt for another address though before you buy, not afterwards.

Hey, was just wondering...Been selling on amazon for awhile now and touch wood, haven't had any problems. But reading this thread, I've realised it might be good to do couple of things and just wondering if everyone else does them. I.e. I've never left buyer feedback and only when I couldn't sent a book on time, contacted buyer to tell that via email. So, my question is, does everyone let the buyer know by email when they've sent the book and leave feedback for the buyer? Thanks a lot.

I always send the buyer an email to say I have posted the item. Most of the time I don't get feed back. There again I didn't realise the seller can leave feedback for the buyer!

I always send a despatch email but rarely, if ever, leave feedback for the buyer.

    >I always send a despatch email<

I've started to, it's one of the standard choices from the Amazon pick-list. Hasn't made a jot of difference to chance of getting any feedback so far.

Hmm, think I'll start doing that. I've got about 12/30 feedback, not too bad I guess. I've started highlighting the 'thank you for buying from'... and 'to leave feedback...' on the despatch sheet I put in the envelope.

I never leave the buyer feedback and don't really care if they leave me it or not. It's actually one of the reasons I like Amazon better than Ebay. I do however always send a despatch email for both Ebay and Amazon - just something Ive always done.

Sending a dispatch note, whether Amazon, eBay or Play is just common courtesy. That said it is surprising how few private sellers do - its a good way to stand out from the crowd and maximise freedback.

I like the Amazon freeformat note - allows me to thank for purchase and advise dispatch.

I don't think there is any point in leaving a buyer feedback on Amazon - it doesn't count for anything.

I have noticed an increase in the amount of feedback being left for me as a seller. I am currently running at about 30% which is the highest it has ever been. At one point I was only getting feedback from around 10% of sales.

I always send a dispatch note but haven't left buyer feedback as I don't think it means anything and would have no idea where to find mine so is there any point?

I am very cross with Amazon today. I received an email today telling me I have made a sale - on 9th March! Had to refund the bloke as I sold it on Play 9 days ago and tried to remove it from Amazon to find that it was not there so I assumed I must not have listed it on both. Now I see I should have checked closed listings as Amazon are quite well known for making mistakes as I have seen from this thread but I am really cross with them as this could ruin my feedback! Has this happened to anyone else?

I've emailed customer services to have a moan - will see what they say
