Thirdly - does anyone have much luck with large print - I have a box full listed, stuff mum had read, some ex library, some new but all in reasonable condition - sold two all year. I would have thought as being a bit niche this might do well if you price it cheap enough but am tempted just to do a job lot on Ebay to get rid of it - Any one else have better luck?

I sold one this week, not sure if I have sold any before or how many are in my listings.

My work sales have totally dried up, one a day if I am lucky whereas I've been having at least 3 or 4 a day.

Listed some DVDs at home and have had a few sales this week so it makes no sense!
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • Hi I am considering starting to list some books of mine on Amazon, never used it before. Some of my books I bought from a book club and dont appear to have ISBN numbers on them, can they still go on Amazon? Some of them I have never read and are what I would call very good condition.

    thanks in advance

Book club editions are a bit of a minefield on Amazon, they shouldn't really be sold using the name to find the book as they are not the same book as a standard edition with an ISBN.

Personally I do not list book club editions as I've read too many scare stories on the seller boards about Amazon pulling accounts etc for listing incorrectly, but there are always editions for sale. If you do risk selling you must mention in the description that the book is a book club edition, also note if paper, font or book size is different to the one in the listing. However even then you run the risk of buyers not reading the description properly and negging you or wanting a refund.

If I get any saleable club editions I tend to put them on ebay or greenmetropolis instead where they are allowed, but again I mention several times that this is not a standard edition and I would also note different sizes or paper.

I've had some successes on ebay and I usually put something like the following:

This is a book club edition book. book measures x by xx and has x pages and being a book club edition has no isbn. Just check out completed listings on ebay first though so you don't waste listing fees if the book is a poor seller.

It is completely unacceptable to list a Book club edition under the publishers edition for the hardback, and even if mentioning it is a Book Club edition it can cause a lot more trouble that it is worth. Though if you list it under the paperback edition under collectible you can often sell them for £1 each when the paperback is listed at 1p.
Though it is worth noting that you are still breaking amazon listing rules by doing so.

Am hoping someone can answer my question ........ fairly new to Amazon (january) and I've sold a book only the buyer has asked (via email) that I post it to a different address of that on Amazon. In the email Amazon say you should never post a book to a different address than that listed ......... any ideas on what I should do?

    TIA xx

    Hi Jtb,

its a tricky one - is it an expensive book? Have they said why they want it to go to a different address? If its not an expensive book I'd prob send it if the buyer seemed genuine [have you checked to see if they have buyer feedback or if they are another seller?].

Otherwise you could explain you are not allowed to send it there by Amazon and risk unfair neg feedback. You could refund and relist asking them to buy it to be sent to the address they need it to go to BUT that counts in your refund total which is a prob potentially if you have quite a few. Not an easy one to resolve so good luck - soz no very helpful solutions but maybe someone else will come up with something I've not thought of! Teapot

Actually I thought if the buyer wanted you to send it somewhere different they just filled in a different despatch address. I've just had one and it actually came through as the "official" address. I know because it was a different name and the buyer contacted me saying he was sending to friend and please not to enclose any details of price on the invoice.

So quiet at the mo!! I'm not a pro seller but had quite a good month (by my standards) selling a few good text books and xmas presents I...ahem..don't require. But now they've gone the tumbleweed is blowing through :D

Mine are deffinately not having to be re-listed either so my set up seems to have changed. It is good but it did force me to check the prices and description and ensure it was an attractive listing.
