Bother. I sold a book yesterday and printed off online postage this morning and dropped it in the drop box at the sorting office ( I decided to risk not having a COP ). Just got an email from the buyer and all he says is 'sorry but i don't want this now'.

I've gone through the whole explanation of how he needs to return the package to sender unopened and once I get it back I will refund in full, but of course there is nothing to stop him leaving poor feedback as he might think I am messing him around.

I have emailed cs and asked whether there is anything else I can do here but I am going to be seriously teed off if I lose my 100% rating because of it.

Lemma do you mean the 'used like new' or 'collectable accptable' categories? If you do I think you have to close the listing from your inventory page and then relist the item changing the category. If you mean details of the item that you have added such as 'creased cover or unmarked pages' etc you can use the edit button on the inventory page.

Unfortunately you need to close the item completely and relist to change the itme condition. All you can change through a straight edit is the item description, price and things like that.

It's Amazon, they keep 'improving' things and can be very glitchy.

Make sure you are on your seller page then in the top selection of options there should be a link to 'current inventory' and that will show your current listings.

Email the buyer first, explain that they have left you a negative and basically it means your business will be destroyed. As them if they felt that something was lacking in your service to warrant a neg and explain that if there is you would appreciate them telling you so it doesn't happen again. Basically grovel and ask them if they could remove the neg.

I have sent an email to the buyer but had no response. Can I contact Amazon about this? If so can anyone tell me the phone number?

    Many thanks

If you go to your seller account and click on 'seller help' which is at the top right hand side of the page there's an option to contact them by phone and they'll call you straight back. Unfortunately there are very few circumstances now in which Amazon will remove feedback these include if its obscene; contains identifying details or is solely a product review not commenting on service.
Re the email you sent - your buyer may not check their emails regularly if at all or they could be away [school hols now up here]. Options are to reply to feedback with a reasoned comment and just try to move on and build up feedback again - not so easy if you are a small seller. Or, you have the buyer's address so you could write to them by snail mail asking if they would consider removing the feedback which you are sure they do not realise has such a negative effect on your sales as a small seller. You should include instructions for them to remove feedback as not all buyers will know how.

    Good luck with it, Teapot
