Uropa - that's a better day already, and you had some treats in there too! Well done! It looks as if you're like me and like your bread huh? It's my one big downfall. I cut it out almost completely for the first month of my diet - imagine that!? I realised that I ate bread for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes, when I was really lazy, my dinner too! I make myself have porridge most mornings now - and it does work to keep me full up. I allow myself to have a treat on a Saturday most weeks, when I have white baguette with 2 slices of bacon. Now I've discovered Nimble bread recently, the wholemeal is only 43 cals per slice - so I can have 3 slices of toast, and feel fine about it. I also have Anchor spreadable, but I scrape it on really thinly, and try to stick to about a teaspoon for all the slices (yup, that thin)! For lunch I try to have something like a tin of chunky soup (190 cals), or I'll have a low fat yogurt, in a dish with some fresh strawberries & a banana - that is surprisingly filling to the point where I can't eat anything else! I really miss crisps I must admit - I love savoury stuff, but now I have snack a jacks popcorn (29 cals a bag), or snack a jacks corn snacks, about 100 cals a bag. Ryvita are a good thing to munch on too, and I can eat the sesame ones like a biscuit, and with a hot cuppa help to give you a full up feeling. I think you've done really well to already cut down a few hundred calories, so keep it up!
OK, no chinese today, although it ended up being pizza. I felt really crud later this afternoon, with a pounding headache, but I think it was partly the remnants of my cold, and also because I'd not eaten a proper lunch. My neice came round and we got chatting, and before I knew it I had to go on the schoolrun, but I missed lunch. Therefore I allowed myself some treats at teatime.
Food today:
B - porridge (250 cals)
Snack - packet snack a jacks (100 cals)
L - 1 mini hot x bun (100 cals)
Snack - banana (110 cals)
D - 3 small slices pizza, 4 mini duck rolls, 4 pieces of garlic bread slice + small slice of choc cake, I didn't eat it all, and OH finished it off!
No idea how many cals were in the dinner - the duck things were about 74 cals each. Suffice to say I am probably up around the 1500 mark for the day, so will have to try harder for the rest of the week, but I do have a few days to limit the damage. No bacon buttie for me this week!
Vix - I like seeing what everyone else eats too, and it's where we can get some useful input from the likes of Victory who has learnt how to substitute foods and find the low calorie alternatives.
BB - your mealplan sounded OK today, and kudos to you for resisting crumble - how hard must that have been? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Seren :j :j :j for the renewed contract and the wedding date!
BB three pieces of fruit a day? I eat loads more than that. The calorie counting website I'm using calculates the 5-a- day based on the weight of fruit and veg you eat and generally I eat between 10 and 15 portions ... about half veg and half fruit. Mind you, sometimes I explode.
Today I had
porridge and blueberries
clementine
banana
pear
readymade tuna and pasta salad
home made ham salad (tomatoes, cucumber, peas, red and green peppers, cabbage)
3 plums
apricot chocolate oat bar
and with various drinks it added up to 1091 calories. And this was a relatively low day for fruit and veg - only made up to 10 portions. Now I'm worrying.
Still, I believe some people actually eat raw swede.:rotfl:0 -
sary, ryvita minis salt and vinegar are ace if you are a crisp fiend! HUGE CONGRATS to seren, that all fab news well done.
OH had a good day in work with me, and they want him back again so thats good. Also stuck to my plan yesterday so pleased about that.
Todays plan is
cn cornflakes and milk, oj
corned beef, onion and ketchup butty, apple
cup soup
ginger scallops and noodles; tom juice

Morning all does anyone know a good sugar substitute? I've slowly been cutting down how much I have in my coffee, am currently at 1/4 of a teaspoon but when I try without it I hate it. Now I only drink about two cups a day so as its such a tiny amount of sugar should I even worry about it? Oh and I already drink it black so no extra cals there.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

CONGRATULATIONS SEREN :j
Morning all, hope everyone is well. Its going to be a bit of an odd day for me diet wise today as we are out to a party tonight so the plan so far is
Milk allowance
B - spec k & milk:j
L - Chicken, potato & veg (going to have a late lunch about 2pm I think)
T - homemade butternut squash & tomato soup and a salad
Then just try not to go mad on the buffet tonight (this will be hard for me as I am a nibbler normally)
Exercise - 30mins wii fit free step/62mins RC dvd & then high heels allowing I will dance the night away!
Yesterday I blew it, lost the plot and stopped recording what I was eating so I don't really know how bad it was but I was bad. I always start well on a Thursday but always struggle in the afternoon its the only day of the week were I am home alone all day with the boys. Hopefully when ds1 starts school after Easter (going to be afternoons when he starts) then that will break the day up better for me and maybe help.

If you eat a couple of boiled eggs right before going out it should fill you enough to resist the buffetGood luck and have fun tonight!

I use Splenda. I started on it because it's not asparteme, which some say is risky in pregnancy and i had gestational diabetes, so i had to switch to something and i just can't drink tea that's not sweet - YAK! Splenda comes in a powder so you can use it like sugar in your porridge, tea, baking or whatever. It tastes fine too. I actually prefer my tea now with Splenda in it to sugar. I feel guilty when i have a sugar because i weighed a spoonful to be 7g. I used to have 2 teaspoons, so 14g in each cuppa!! I could have had a chocolate bar instead!! LOL!
Yeah, i do like my bread sarynclary. I like it a lot. Plus, i am trying to get as much oatmeal into my diet as i can to help with milk production, so we get the oatmeal bread. I think i'm going to have porridge for breakfast instead though from now on. (With Splenda in it). I had my crumpets this morning and they don't taste right unless they're dripping with butter - real butter. I hate marg. Looks like i'm going to have to look out for these danger foods and just avoid having them regularly if it means i need to have them covered in butter / sugar / fat. I'd rather have something far less often and have it "right" than have a crap version.
Sarah.
