You are all still doing so well and I feel a bit of a fraud because you are all doing it the best way. I know this diet isn't the best way to lose weight but at this present time it is the best for me.

Annie don't feel a fraud , you're quite that right there is no best way --- the best way is the way that works for you. From experience I think what your own 'best way' is can change too. For you, now, it's the food substitutes, for me it's calorie counting. It doesn't matter at all. Your way will work for you and you mustn't feel that you're doing anything less or more than anyone else. :grouphug:

    Morning all!
Marley and me was great film, very sad. My sister enjoyed it too, after that we watched Sex and the City the movie..which I had already seen but she hadn't. Has anyone seen that? I cried!
BB Maybe you could buy lots and lots of disposable cameras and give them to your guests, get them to develope them and give you a copy of each one, that way, your guests get photos and you get a huge variety of everyones!
As for the "formal" wedding photos, have you not got a family member or and friend who is good with a camera for this? It would save alot of money, and probably take less time, them proper photographers have everyone getting into different groups, moving around and it takes aaaaages!!!
Did u see Jordan and peters wedding?? They had their photos for OK mag done the day BEFORE the wedding, how weird would that be??
Anyway, yesterday didn't go toooo bad, I had NO wine with sis last night, so I've saved on calories there. But we did eat butterkist popcorn (the little 105cals bags!) and a few Cashews, and a yoghurt...but not alot of damage done!
I think the most damage this week will be caused by the cadbury melting pot choc cake I ate on thurs with ice cream  And I had been doing so well!!!
    Todays plan...
Go to post office to get my trainers as they came yesterday when I was at work..then we are going for a run. Going to fix the bikes up, my back wheel needs a new inner tube, we will probably go for bike ride either tonight or tomorrow morning. I had rest days Thurs and Fri Missy so I'm ready for some exercise, yey!
    Breakfast-Cheerios Milk, Glass OJ, Tea
Dinner-Pitta Bread, Rocket, Tuna and Sundried tomato mayo:pYUM
    Tea-Not sure yet...maybe pasta
    Snack-Cereal bar/Banana
Plan from now is to try to not eat any naughties!! I want to step on the scales and have a peek but Im resisting!
Good Luck for the weekend everyone

The staff at work were not friendly, i was put off in my induction because the lady in charge had a bit of a "she wont be back" attitude and then today not one member of staff said hello or even smiled at my existence. These are the people who are meant to be providing chatter to the elderly who might not get it very often!

Miserable bu$$ers. Just prove them wrong. If you talk to them the way you 'talk' on here you'll have them loving you in no time. Tell them Granny says you're GREAT.

Hi lakelady, hope you like our thread. IT can be abit random sometimes, but it's very supportive. I totally fell off the wagon last night despite being good during the day. it should have been

    cncornflakes milk and oj
    cocopops, milk and apple
    cup soup
sausage, mash and sweetcorn, tom juice

    and ended up

    cncornflakes milk and oj
    cocopops, milk and apple
2 bags bueno eggs, guylian praline bar, mushrom pasta snack, snack pot
sausage, mash, 2 x tom juice

I'm firmly blaming work stress at the mo, it's been a rough week. There's some light at the end of the tunnel now so thats something. I need to get back into having my afternoon cup osup snack as that would stop me snacking later on as i'd know i'd had a snack. trouble is, i end up working and running around and before i know it its 1800 when i should have gone home at 1700, never mind remembering to stop for a drink!

    Todays plan is

    ricicles, milk and oj,
    cocopops, milk, some sweetcorn
    cup soup
scampi, chips and peas, tom juice.

BB i never thought i'd do an exercise dvd either, but it mostly works. I do find though that I have do it first thing in the morning as soon as i get up. I'm not as disciplined as the guys on here who'll do it in the evening - i always find something better to do. I now deliberately get up early to do it and it is working out. I wouldn't say i enjoy it, but I feel good for having done it.

Thanks AL (and dragon)- this is exactly what I would do - very practical me.

But before this gets out of hand I better say, there is absolutly no expectation that I will be getting engaged any time soon:rotfl: . This is all fantasy at the mo and one I am not thinking about very much. The speculation merely came out of vix's suprise that my OH wasn't a DH:D .

annie - can i echo granny's words as perfect - please don't feel a fraud in anyway and please be with us lots. I totally respect your decision as the right choice for you now: you'r e a capable grown woman who has taken a decision as the person who knows you and your needs best.

dmv - I don't feel at all patronised. My future has potential dark clouds too but like you, I stay focussed on now becasue now is good and that's what matters. Your weigh loss is stunning and you are really over that little hurdle of a few weeks ago.
I'm fighting to stay under the next stone bracket up and that is the ultimate motivator I can tell you.
Just had a hearty protein based breakfast, hoping that will keep hunger pangs at bay.
Must make sure I do lots of 'useful' things today.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

BB I think that’s why this thread suits me so well-because I need to commit to it. I have my weigh day tomorrow and I’m SO looking forward to it. I’ve not eaten anything away from my plan this week-at all.
Yes Vix, my dad lives in South Africa and I really want him to be here in the UK for my wedding.
Lakelady Welcome... I’m shorter than you, a couple of decades younger and also 14stone...I’d say youre doing well
DMV Thats wonderful. Where are you going on holiday this year?
Andyslinz Glad your trainers arrived-and well done on movie night. I’m also avoiding the temptation to peek, but I only have one day left....and then I can go on the list for the first time
DF has gone into work for a bit so DS and I are going to walk to the post office as my business cards and some new tools for my cake decorating kit have arrived. I’m going to start making little sugarpaste bunnies to go on some cupcakes for easter this year...instead of chocolate. I know how much sugar goes into my cupcakes and can scale down too.
Then tonight we are going to a St Patricks day party at the Irish community centre where we go to playgroup on Thursdays and Fridays. It’s a family event so we can take DS with. I’m looking forward to it as it’ll be the first time since early December that I’ve been out at night...and only the fourth time in two years. They are having a band and a caller – both things Ive never experienced before. I guess I’ll be having only one pint and then I’ll have to switch to light wine and/or soda water. But I’m determined to be good.

    Morning folks!

I got a bit too merry last night and am feeling a bit rough this morning, OH lovingly made me a bowl of cheerios that I wolfed down but the cheerios were literally spilling out of the top of the bowl, think 30g portion X 10. I didn't eat them all though.....as I vaguely recall eating a steak and onion slice last night aswell - OOPS!

OH wants to go out for a meal later, Urrrrgh!

He's actually away to train to do the 10k marathon here in Aberdeen (it's in 2months!) so he's off to get properly fitted for running shoes, he's going to some shop that film you running on a treadmill, then see how your feet etc lands, so you get the best fitting shoe.

Who knows, he may even manage to drag my fat butt out with him for bike rides, only problem is where to put DD, unless I got one of those little seats for the back of my bike? Are they safe?

We would be cycling around the beach so no main roads or anything.

Kinda looking forward too it, just gotta get my bike from OH's house now (we used to go for bike rides to Bennachie - It's a big mountain) then we'd actually climb it.

    Those were the days lol.

I had my monthly weigh in today :) I'm 1.5lb up on last month, of which 0.8lb is a body fat gain. There has been no overeating, so I think this may be because of undereating for the 15 hours of exercise I put in last week (i.e. fat storage). I've significantly reduced exercise and calorie intake this week, so there have been two major changes in routine in the past two weeks.

Either way I don't think that's bad for a month's result and I'm confident everything is still under control :) I'm still on the lower side of my maintain range so no remedial action necessary at the moment ;) I don't want to see another body fat gain next month though, and I'm pretty confident there won't be :p

Hope you all have a fab weekend, and good luck for next week!

Andy would be a OH in any ways...I am another one living in sin. And theres no way i would be fallin asleep during OH :rotfl:
Thanks for the chart raph...nice to see me on it as a first timer!! :j
Is anyone around?? I am looking at these 3G Hula Hoops, has anyone got one, or had experience with one? As I am interested in buying it. http://www.3ghoop.co.uk/
They seem too good to be true, apparantly doing this for 10 minutes and you can burn 300 calories. It is meant to be the equivelent of doing hundreds of sit ups...maybe I might have that washboard stomach sooner than I thought :D
Should be in bed now, but I'm reading about these hoops!
    xx

I've used one of the 3g hoop at my local gym, fun and seems to work. Just recently bought one for myself to use while watching TV. By the way This is a 10% discount code K1984WCD, I think it is still working.

With regard to making sure you dont feel patronised you will have to excuse me. At uni we have to be so politically correct and careful what we say. For example if you say someone is suffering from a back problem it can be linked to the medical model of disability which suggests that its their problem and that they are less of a person/ outcast! Instead you have to say someone is experiencing a back problem. It doesnt bother me personally but it can really offend some people. In some ways I think its stupid but without those activists that fought for disabled peoples rights the world would be a very different and bleak place for those with disabilities.

Back to weightloss! Thank you for the nice words BB, I'm feeling quite positive at the minute. I originally said I was aiming to lose 1lb a week, so saying I wan to lose 1.5lbs this week is getting a bit ahead of myself. It would be good, but if I dont get there this week there is always next week. You can probably see I'm trying not to set myself up for a fall!

Only been up for a couple of hours so have had some cereal, and will have some soup later and cous cous for dinner. OH was working till 8.30 am so our day is shifted back a fair bit! Oh I bought a 200g choc bar last week as its TOTM and whilst OH has worked his way (slowly) through half of it, I have only had 8 squares! I would have eaten it all in a day before! Good luck with the weekend everyone!
