evening everyone.
Saw my GP today to see if there is any help for the hunger cravings caused by my drugs. The answer is sadly not. However, it was worth going, as I came away with thought of exploring the idea of pilates classes.
I'm not wild at the idea but have been motivated enough to do loads of seaches on line looking at gyms and classes and local self employed teachers. I have just found one that might suit but depends on the price. Have emailed.
Also, I think with OH about to start work with nearly a full week (for the first time since we lived together), I may find myself freed up at bit to re start swimming, we'll see. I think I want to try and strengthen my core stability thingy and see if I can tone my stomach a bit even if I can't lose the weight at the mo.
I just need to be careful to not take on too many extra activities.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Brighton Belle~Sorry about the meds.
I tried pilates & found it very hard.
I do modified yoga & that seems to help.
Need to get out on my trike more once weather improves.
Hope your OH is in the mend.

Hi BB I'm not 100% sure what all of your medical problems are but I know that you can buy pilates dvd's/home physio dvds for back pain, neck pain, arm pain etc so that might be worth looking into. My old physio told me to look on amazon for these specific dvds, as they will avoid positions that can do more damage for you and encorporate (sp?) exercises that will actually help your specific condition/s. If you cant find a class that does something like that then maybe a dvd is worth considering?0

Pilates may suit me best: I'm just not that interested in 'exercise' other than country walks but I want to try and tone a bit so am just looking into this idea. It may be a flash in the pan:D .
My biggest problem is arthritis, everywhere, which is contained by drugs (which make me feel carp), plus 2 other conditions that rule out strenuous aerobics. I could do with a swimming buddy too, as that would motivate me to go to the pool more often.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

So i take it i'll be on first refusal for bridesmaid duties? being that i am your adoptive neice.

Dear adopted niece . I think you are the very woman I need to speed things along.
I do however have an 8 year old honorary neice who might consider it was her rightful place to have first refusal, but I'm open to negotiation:D . I think you would probably come out on top if it came to fisticuffs.
Beanie - Gretna would suit OH, but only if it was down the road...
Missy - very helpful advice re the exercise/rest discussion.
I think OH's op was similar to yours last year and becasuse it was keyhole, means he has good time to recover in time for new job: very timely.
AIWTDIS - 1lb isn't bad given you have been eating this week. It would be lovely if most of it stayed off wouldn't it.
ok ok....seeing as she is only 8 i will let her have first refusual, but one bridesmaid wouldnt be much cop, 2 is a far better number for evening out the photos0 -
WOW at all the losses reported tonight. And I think I'm getting somewhere with those recipes...haven't created my own but have found a few I think might work-just need to bake some and see.
Vix you asked for it...my dad is partner of a company called Eurozulu (if you look on my blog, there's a link with the description "Eurozulu-Dads new office", they do game and diving safari's aswell as what is known as "turtle tours". He's very attached to the elephants in the parks he works in and uses them as an excuse to stay at home:). When Matt (yes, my fiance is also Matt) proposed to me, we were expecting to get married in home office and we had all made our peace with that. But his family is all here and are expecting a big function...but then my younger brother got married and it was a lark...he had his guests pay a deposit to attend his wedding! And he set the date in high season knowing that my dad would not be able to attend. My stepsister got married in 2001-my dad paid for it all, but then did the video and photo's whilst her dad walked her down the aisle. My older brother then got married here in London a few months later-but knowing dad was skint from the other wedding-didn't tell him until after the fact (they married in home office). So the jist is that my poor old man has raised four kids, married off three and had nothing to do with any of them really. So I have bought my fabric to make my dress and plan to make my cake...and Im collecting odd bits of crockery from charity shops and freecycle etc to put together a bit of a victorian tea party/picnic for our wedding...but I really want my dad to be there. Then it's a bit like the cat in the cradle coz my dad moved in with my stepmother in 1991-proposed two years later but didn't get married until 2005;)One of us kids was always in need so it just kept getting put off-runs in the family see:o
Gives me extra time to lose some weight anyway.
I've stuck to my meal plan today completely, really chuffed about that. But not much walking -a few blocks or so. But I have a bit of a distance to walk tomorrow so it's been a nice bit of rest today
i roughly get you ha, so your dad is in like south africa or something and you want him in the uk? no i think im still lost, sorry. I catch the drift though!! Im just watching jades wedding on tv actually. Funny wedding.0 -
Morning:D been trying to get MJ tickets but no such luck:rolleyes: got one enrique iglesias ticket going on my own 'cause OH does not like him:rotfl: :rotfl:
victory, i would have seriously gone with you!! Its my friend and i's song!! the ping pong one! Its sooo funny, we always joke about it.
I wont double, triple or quadruple post so i'll put my bit on the end ha. I had my frist days volunteering work today. Feel pretty good, there is no different feeling to getting paid or not actually. The staff at work were not friendly, i was put off in my induction because the lady in charge had a bit of a "she wont be back" attitude and then today not one member of staff said hello or even smiled at my existence. These are the people who are meant to be providing chatter to the elderly who might not get it very often!
Matt and i are now saving 50 pound a month between us on our phone contracts and were getting more stuff with 2 little phone calls! what a result is that. That pays for the electric now!
anyways, im offski! have a good weekend everyone xx0 -
Hi guys hope you are all well
Have done super sculpt and pump tonight, off for a HHSS now

Vix, sorry to hear you're volunteering collegues are not very happy/chatty that would really put me off too. I used to volunteer at a Disabled sports club it was great everyone was always chatting. I hope another opportunity comes along soon that treats you better. Well done on the savings, things are really expensive atm.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0
