Victory - you are being an exellent maintainer! I know you would like
to see off these 3 lbs, but you are doing well. Hope you are feeling a little better now and are still looking after yourself. Sometimes stopping is the only way. I know you like to be busy and active which makes it doubly hard. No one could ever accuse you of sitting back and not bothering.
Thank youI am feeling better and have to slow down, not impressed with it but I have noticed that I can go hell for leather all day every day I guess in a way compensating for the fact I am jobless and justifying my days by taking on OH requests, sons needs, school homework, house work etc and end up frazzled with it all in pain with the arthritis and rather resentful so this week because I have had to I have done it all still but slower:rotfl: not quite tortoise but sloooower:rotfl: it gets the job done , the exercise has been walking, 5 miles I walked the other day:D not so much the wii fit but something has to give like you say and if I don't it will be me collapsing:rotfl:

Vix, I'm with you on the knowing where people are regionally from just by looking at them. I think my work in HR gave me that radar, but I also have an innate 'sense' about someone's credibility too. I know in an instant is someone is nice/not nice as a person. My OH is the only other person I've met who also has it.
i think i have that too. There arent many people who i meet that can slip through my radar of being genuine or not. I can tell when someone is lying straight away, even my boyfriend has trouble doing anything without me knowing in some way what he is doing. I've always been really perceptive about others, even as a child. I even pick up on it on forums too.0 -

Victory - 5 miles walking is wonderful exercise, I think you might be surprised at how well walking compares to other things
For me a reasonably brisk cross country walk is equivalent to a moderate swim, a leisurely bike ride, a gentle session in the gym, ice skating, a 6% incline treadmill walk or a low resistance session on the stationary bike
I would expect to burn in the region of 500-550 calories on a 5 mile walk - it's brilliant!

alright folks,
Ive just done 5 days of work at debenhams, 4 full time days!! hardcore. How people do full time work in retail i will never know...
I bought some size 12 jeans woo! first ive been able to get into. Not a great fit cos theyre tight on the leg and big in the waist (i say waist but theyre not granny like jeans, you know what i mean, and not granny as in our granny)
Ohh did i mention i went to age concern on fri. Well from the meeting i had you would never have known i was giving up my free time to volunteer!! No gratitude really or anything.. kinda surprised. I would have thought they would have made you feel welcome but obvo not!
anyway, better dash gotta feed a hungry matthew cos he has trouble feeding himself it seems. Men!0 -
This week I've been all on my own as my son's been off on his first school trip. Unsurprisingly the exercise is high, but it's all been good and I've enjoyed it. I wouldn't normally get a chance to go out all day on the bike as I did on Tuesday (went to London & back using the Thames Path)
I've also had a temporary membership at the gym this week (Nectar freebie).
- Monday: Gym sesh multi equip 52 mins (305 cal), Swim 30 mins (122 cal), Long walk 55 mins (323 cal), Run 35 mins (247 cal)
- Tuesday: Cycle 80.3km canal & river paths 6h 22mins (1897 cal)
- Wednesday: Exercise class "Stretch" (0 cal), Gym sesh rower & x-trainer 40 mins (235 cal), Swim 30 mins (122 cal)
- Thursday: Swim improvement lesson & practice 1hr (298 cal), Weights 15 mins (0 cal)
- Friday: Road cycling 20km (443 cal), Swim 25 mins (147 cal), Treadmill jog 37 mins (287 cal) (Equivalent to a sprint triathlon)
- Saturday: Nothing
- Sunday: Weights 20 mins (0 cal)
I will be treating next week as a 'wind down' from that lot, so expect to see significantly less in the next summary!
Foodwise, 1748 average calories per day. Could have done with being 150 or so cals a day higher to fuel the above, but I don't like eating beyond my appetite - and I don't think it will make any difference to my weight anyway, as that seems to have stabilised really nicely
Have a great week next week everyone!0 -
lo all, I actually stuck totally to plan yesterday so quite pleased! Also found a puff pastry recipe that actually worked which is great - but not great for diet obviously. Pastry always been kind of like kryptonite to me, I just can;t do it!
Hard to plan today as i've been out at a meeting for most of it but here's the 'plan'
breakfst -still full from tea; didn't bother
lunch - cheese, ham and coleslaw roll, bag crisps, half slice of bar type choc cake
tea - chicken and chorizo stew, glass tom juice
Bbelle, i loved my poodle she was the cleverest little dog i have ever known and so sweet. She slept on my bed every night and used to learn tricks like nobodys business. She had a terrible sweetie habit though - we lived in a shop so she used to eat sweets all the time - whatpeople dropped from the penny tray, what people bought her from the penny tray, the jar sweets . . . .looking back it's amazing she had any teeth.
Thanks for hte advice on the dog thing folks - not offended at all. We've decided that we'll only get a puppy if oh is working from home for a month afterwards, if not we'll get an older dog; we'll have a walker in on weekdays if oh not working frm home; and i'll try to nip home on a lunchbreak. After a bit we'd see if the dog minded being left any longer than that - some aren't bothered, some are i guess. We'd also need to find a good kennel for the rare time that we couldn't take them to an event with us. we're now at the 'hopefully' stage rather than maybe so definitely progress.0 -
