I don't think I'll be capable of doing anything after I've done this one! We've got to move it 10 miles, then rebuild it! Not looking forward to that.

Hey all, had the doctor appointment today about my back. Dosen't seem very good, to me anyways.

He said that he's not seen anything like it before, he said he didn't think it was a haematoma as I've had no bruising and dosen't "FEEL" like one. Dosen't think it's an infection either. Said there is a possibility of it being another Lipoma, and described it like an Iceberg, they removed the tip and the rest has come through. But this lump is about 5times bigger than the one they removed so surely it couldn't of squeezed through the hole, without serious pain at least!?

He described it as "odd" - Reassuring.

I've got 1weeks worth of antibiotics to take, he said he doubts they will do much but it's just preventive incase there IS an infection. I've got to go back when they are finished and if it hasn't went, I've got to go to hospital for a scan & biopsy, then surgery.

    Fab-u-lous.

On the upside he said I was looking slim :D Last time that paticular doctor saw me I weighed about 16stone, I guess I'm memorable because I never shutup!

    Food today has been -

Branflakes and FF milk (No semi left!)
    Banana
    3 biscuits
    4 chips
Bowl of butternut squash soup with a slice of wholemeal bread

I was out for a lot of the day, so the biscuits and chips were pinched from OH's mum as I felt faint in Land of Leather!

Oh Buttonmoons, sorry to hear that, i hope the antibiotics help as another op is not what you want, sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery :) Doctors can be clueless, my OH went the other day and he said do you get any side effects from the tablets, he said yep i got one now my belly swells from 32" to 38" for no reason then goes 2 days later. All he said was i'll send you for a scan, OH said no point it'll be gone by then :rotfl: Looking slim eh you definately made an impression on him ;)

  • Buttonmoons, sorry that your visit wasn't a little bit more conclusive. I had a lipoma removed from my arm in the summer (under local anaesthetic), the doctor showed it to me in the little pot after he had removed it. He did rumage around alot during the 'op' to make sure he had chased it all out - he explained that if he left even a trace in, that there is a theory that they can re-grow.

I have to say that what he showed me in the pot was very soft - if you have seen any of the 'fat removal operations' on the TV, it looked a bit like that - you know the yellow fatty stuff - so I would say that it is probably soft and gloopy enough to squeeze through a smaller hole.

    Have a hug, FFM :)

  • PS - if you're not too squeamish you can watch lipoma removals on You Tube - then you can see what they are like - I think I searched for 'You Tube Lipoma Removal Arm' on Google and watched one that looked identical to my own.

I actually asked to see the Lipoma they removed, and it was just a round blob with white fat or something attached too it! But they did say at the time they got it all out. Hopefully it is just another harmless one, it's just having to get it removed again, MORE SCARS! Unless they open up the same cut as before?

It's annoying anyways, I seem to have one problem after another, I'm only 21 but my list of problems is like a 70year old womans lifetime ailments
  • sorry to hear your doctor wsn't more encouraging bm, i hope you make some progress. V jealous of all these people getting dogs I so want one but i'm out working all day so i can;t have one really. DMV, your oh probably has visions that he's going to get a tuna salad every night! I found that it takes a bit of planning but you can balance things - so if he wants sausage and mash, you give him proper sausages with proper gravy, but you have quorn sausages with bovril. Actually sausages are dead handy. I can make a healthy pasta bake that I can eat, and if i put a couple of sausages on the side, oh will eat it too. Have a look at the recipe thread linked from the first page, you'll find some great ideas on there i think.

    Well, yesterdays plan was:

    CN cornflakes, milk and OJ
special k oaty, milk and apple
    cup soup
moroccan chicken with couscous(ainsley dinner kit), glass tom juice

and it turned out to be
    CN cornflakes, milk and OJ
special k oaty, milk and apple
peach pastry, half a mde up pack of strawberry delight
moroccan chicken with couscous(ainsley dinner kit)

so not brilliant but not a full on crash and burn

    todays plan is

    CN cornflakes and milk, oj
weetabix choc minis and milk, apple
    cup soup
savoury rice and 2 vegeburgers, veg on the side

went to the pictures last night and saw push - very good, quite absorbing with a good amount of action in it. definitely recommend!
