Just wanted to post a quick warning to people to read the labels of their food! I've had boring training at work this morning so decided I needed a treat for lunch, popped into Iceland on way home pick up a chinese rice and sweet and sour balls (I know it was bad but thought it was better than getting a bag of chips!) The pack of rice had nearly 1,000 calories in it, the balls had 1/2 of those calories in them! I mean, 1,000 calories for blinkin' rice!! I'm off to the gym later and going to have to push myself so hard now. Oh well, what's done is done, I'll just have to be an angel till my next weigh in on Sunday now. :ADMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110

Hi all. Raph can I go down as a sts please. I havent weighed myself though as I have had a really rubbish couple of days with regard to health, work, general life etc and I know I wont have lost so dont see the point in making myself feel even worse!
OH understands I want to lose weight and has admitted he would also like me to, yet he wants me to eat the same as him at dinner. In theory thats fine but he is wanting stodgier food at the minute and has that man phobic thing of not wanting to eat anything low fat, as the full fat version always tastes better! He also buys a load of junk and eats it all in front of me, so has now officially admitted he is rubbish at supporting me trying to eat healthily! Im thinking I'm gonna try cooking something different a couple of nights a week. Let him have things that are bad/ I dont like whilst I have a jacket potato/pasta/cous cous etc.
Sorry for going on! Good luck with weigh ins!0 -
Hi everyone, just popping into the new thread to say Hi :hello:I'm afraid I'm not keeping up with the thread at the mo but thinking of you all and wishing you well with your journeys. I'm good this end, maintaining at the mo which I'm more than happy with
Vic, hope things go well with the spaniel - we got a 5-month old collie on Saturday and she is gorgeous:smileyhea
dmv, I've just read your post - your OH can't have it both ways. Why would he insist you eat the same as him?If he really doesn't want to support you and/or change his own eating habits then be strong and do it for yourself. I understand that it's very hard when others around you are eating whatever but perhpas a couple of focussed weeks by you will show him how determined you are and he may become more supportive. Good luck with it.

Evening All,
I am feeling the effects of 3 days hard graft, I can tell you. My legs ache, my shoulders ache, my hands ache, my wrist ache, I've got bright red knees (ooer missus!), cuts and grazes and bruises in places even I'm surprised to find them!:o
You'd think I'd been in the ring with Mike Tyson, but no, I've been laying slabs, moving furniture and dismantling a shed. If this hasn't burned off some calories by next week, I'll feel inclined to throw a match on the shed! We got the roof off today, but that's what's responsible for my sore knees as I was knelt on it for a couple of hours removing the gazillion tacks holding on the roof felt. By golly the bloke who built this monster did a grand job, but he's put nails and screws in so bloomin' tight!
I tried to 'gift' my 2 sofas to a charity furniture recycling project, but they refused to take them! I'd taken the cushions off, and had been spot cleaning it, and when he arrived one of the spots that is actually on the base, under the seats, was still not dried, so appeared to be a stain. He said he couldn't take them unless they were perfect! Believe me, you really can't give stuff away these days.If I were really needy, and desperate for free furniture, I'd be completely delighted with them.
I'm feeling shattered now, but have had a nice warm shower, have had a reasonable tea, and am staying at my BF's tonight, so will get the benefit of a better night's sleep at his too.
I'm pleased to report a 2lb loss this week. It took about 3 days to get rid of the last 2 ounces of that! How difficult can it be?
Food today:
B - porridge
L - soup, 1 sesame ryvita
Snack - 1 ryvita
D - 2 sausages, large mixed veg portion, 1 tbs mash
I've more than worked that lot off today.
dmv - if your OH won't support you in a sensible way, then I'm afraid you will just have to tackle this on your own (and with us too). Perhaps if you were eating more healthily your OH would have to accept that his diet may well need addressing too? I had a friend like this who hated it if ever I was trying to be careful, and would go out of her way to try to break my willpower, and get me to join her eating !!!!.I realised that in doing so, it made her feel better about eating a poor diet if she could get me to eat it too, so it shared the guilt out.
I have explained to my OH & the children that I am going to be eating differently to them a lot of the time, they aren't to question what I'm doing, and they certainly aren't to offer me anything tempting. They have been wonderful about it, in fact my 2 youngest boys have joined me in my 'giving up for Lent', and have given up either puddings or toast for breakfast. I'm the one that's given up sweets/chocolate/desserts:rolleyes: In fact, I am cooking lower fat meals, with less stodge, and they haven't really noticed! Sometimes we just need to adjust our portion sizes too, or if he's having chips, you have a baked spud, etc.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Done 1hour on the wii fit got 3550 on the 30 min step,
I tried last night and ignored the mii and the click on the wii mote but was a little worried my steps were not registering but after 30 mins I had racked up 3334. Maybe when I'm back upto speed I might be able to keep up with you
STS this week (due to not enough exercise and feeling sorry for myself I bet)
Hope to manage to shift some lb's next week (fingers crossed)

I think I have made my OH out to sound awful but he really isn't! He's just set in his ways. Yes he could definitely do with eating a bit healthier, but with regard to junk and snacks he doesnt want me to join him in gorging, he just wants to be able to eat what he wants where he wants. He very much has the view that you should be able to lose weight by eating "normal" food, which is why he thinks we should be eating the same food in the evening. However the truth is that I dont lose weight by eating sausage + mash, spag bol, chops etc. Will have to start cooking more chicken and fish I think.
I will probably feel brighter about everything in the next few days, just on a bit of a downer with everything today. On the upside I've just got a popcorn maker and you get LOADS for 100 calories with minimal fat. A sprinkle of low sodium salt or sweetener and a yummy and very cheap snack!Am having a night off from uni work so popcorn and good tv here I come!0
