TwiceasNice wrote: »Hi all,
I am so annoyed with myself. I'm annoyed on 2 counts.
Yesterday i went and joined the local gym at a cost of £90 for 2 months. I wanted to be proactive as i desperately want to lose weight.
Today i go to the dr's for a check on my blood pressure and we have a chat about weight ect and the dr decides to tell me he will do a GP referral to the gym which will be about a 1/3 of the price i have paid, and will be to the exact same gym i use!!
I have contacted the gym manager as i am trying to get them to cancel my membership but am sooo annoyed for jumping the gun and now have possible wasted £90, which is not very money saving!!!!!!!!! Also i know what these gyms are like once they have ur money they very rarely give it back.
Second thing i am annoyed at is that my scales at home do not work or i am blind. I had my weight as about 15st 7 well the Dr weight me and i am just shy of 16 stone:eek: .
I am devasted. Its a few more pounds but its a psychological thing, but so gutting that it is so close 16 that it may as be just be 16!!
AAARRGGHH
ok feel a bit better after my rant.
Now will go back and read how everyone else is. Hope you are having better days.

Good luck with it all - you will do it! I have a lot of weight to lose as well but haven't been to see about my BP or anything - how do you get a GP referral to the gym do you mind me asking??0 -
BB: I really hope Mr BB gets the job, my fingers will be crossed for him tomorrow. Thanks for the advice and i hope youre doing ok.
Granny: I want your job if only for the powerIts hard to relate much from debenhams to this job, its really kinda promoting tourism to an area so its not really front line stuff but obviously bits will carry through.
No pancakes for meim due on and i really feel im lacking in something, i had baked beans today to see if that will help. Otherwise i feel frustration and anger for some reason so i got matt to give me a hair and hand tiggle which sorted me out, in replacement of pancakes. Im sure its what the lord really wanted

Well done those who have posted a loss looking at that and some of the sigs is an inspiration to this newbie.
I might not have picked the best week to start this with pancake day but I decided to go ahead with it as I couldn't deprive dsand couldn't make them and not have some.
So we had pancakes for breakfast (made the batter last night to save time) and then had more for dinner, ds had his normal packed lunch but school gave him a pancake but he didn't like it as it was a scotch pancake, prefers the thin ones. Ds has his dry but I had butter and real maple syrup on mine , stopped myself from eating too many though.0 -

Thanks for you lovely comment - I am also lucky to have a very supportive employer who is able to think creatively.
Thanks too vic and missy.
Missy - a PB for your half marathon - how fantastic. All you brand new peeps -this is someone who never ever imagined herself running down the road ayear or so ago - isn't that right missy.
Twiceasnice - I know the added weight is demoralising. But after this week you are never going to be that weight again and with the exercise you are planning , in a month's time, this will have been forgotten as you will be well on your weight loss path. A month will go really quickly, promise. Frustrating about the gym: I hope you are sucessful..
Granny - don't eny you your decision!
Marion - I daren't give you permission now - Victory is on your case:rotfl: .
Beanie - how do you hope to achieve a sucessful day one?
Pokey - I think you get a gym referral from you GP by going to see him/her - and convinced them you are serious about getting healthy but need help, that's if thy have a scheme set up in your area.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
First step Brighton belle is to try to cut out a lot of the not so good things which have crept in again in the past couple months and too many sweets and creme eggs......
Then I will take it from there.

The interviews weren't so bad, one of them didn't do herself justice and the other interviewed really well so the decision making part was easy. But then telling the unsuccessful one .....
... that's horrid so Vix you're so wrong - the power is the worst bit because with it comes responsibility.

How has everyone coped with PANCAKE DAY? I made pancakes, though they looked more like crepes, I don't like those thick things anyways. As you know DD is super fussy, had a bite of mummys pancakes and told me it was GUSTING!!!
OH loved them though, was sitting snarfing them down with loads of lemon and sugar, I only had 1, with a bit of jam *insert angel face* But I feel soooo hungry today, very tired too! I made soup earlier, so might have another bowl, I don't even care about the calorie content (not that I know what it is anyways!) I just feel run down. But hey, better than reaching for the custard creams - Have I ever said I LOVVVVVE custard creams?0 -
