  • hello all: doing better thanks granny. Was able to get into work today but not pushing myself to do anything else . Dinner will be a HM ready meal of sausage casserole with Mash which is yummy and is currently defrosting.

Saw my GP today and she was so supportive and this has really bouyed me up. I have a week off work next week and I am looking forward to the break. I made the decision last autumn to take an unpaid week off every 8 weeks to help me keep the cycle of exhaustion on a more even keel and generally it is paying off. It's hard without the dosh, as I can only manage p/t anyway and OH is currently unemployed but we'd rather manage on less and I get a better quality of life. Fingers crossed please peeps:he has an interview tomorrow: minimum wage and seasonal & only 30 hrs a week but we need him to get it:o .It has helped since I joined the 'live on 4k' challenge.

More newbies:j . Hello clutterby, lovely to have more to join us,and l'm glad those of you who were lurking have taken the plunge - we were all new here once so know that 1st post can feel a big step. Great to have you back pokey - don't be ashamed - you have a beautiful baby and they have been your priority. You're here now and the secret seems to be sticking at it through ups and downs.

    Granny HSbowdown.gif10lbs off now cheerleader3.gif.
    Beanie - did I see a 'day 1' sneak in there:T .
Victory - for pancake day I always have to have the real deal so I'll be making the batter later. We have a stool each in the kitchen and sit by the hob taking turns to cook one for each other. I always toss mine but he is a careful turner: sums up our difference really:D . Sorry to here you feel rough today.
Well done somnium, 2lbs is a good loss at this stage in the game.
Re the low sugar thing - I've always needed to eat little and often and rely on bananas a lot.
Vix - good luck with the app - sounds like higlighting your kent experience would be good, but good point from granny re what qualities your debenham's job shows you have.

As I'm having pancakes today, I think i'll take this mornings weigh in: 1lb on.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Well done on the losses.

I'm going to have a bash at some scotch pancakes :) they really remind me of home and seem simple to make.

  • Hi all,

I am so annoyed with myself. I'm annoyed on 2 counts.

Yesterday i went and joined the local gym at a cost of £90 for 2 months. I wanted to be proactive as i desperately want to lose weight.

Today i go to the dr's for a check on my blood pressure and we have a chat about weight ect and the dr decides to tell me he will do a GP referral to the gym which will be about a 1/3 of the price i have paid, and will be to the exact same gym i use!!

I have contacted the gym manager as i am trying to get them to cancel my membership but am sooo annoyed for jumping the gun and now have possible wasted £90, which is not very money saving!!!!!!!!! Also i know what these gyms are like once they have ur money they very rarely give it back.

Second thing i am annoyed at is that my scales at home do not work or i am blind. I had my weight as about 15st 7 well the Dr weight me and i am just shy of 16 stone:eek: .

I am devasted. Its a few more pounds but its a psychological thing, but so gutting that it is so close 16 that it may as be just be 16!!

    AAARRGGHH

ok feel a bit better after my rant.

Now will go back and read how everyone else is. Hope you are having better days.

  • If you eat a little but often I think it keeps your blood sugar up and the headaches at bay - perhaps snack on an apple or a banana mid morning and mid afternoon.

    FFM :)

i have tried bthat today had a apple and banana and so far i feel ok, slight twingne of headache but not as bad as usual.

    Thanks!!

You could always try sugar free fruit squash or fruit teas. Your fluid intake does not have to just consist of water.

I sometimes get the headaches and dizziness too due to low blood sugar and have to agree with ffm that regualr doses of fruit helps.

Many thanks for your comments i bought some sugar free squash which i can have at work.

Sorry i don't know how to quote more than 1 person.

Also congrats to all the people who have reported weighloss or STS.:T

Def keep everything crossed for you, wishing him the very best ;)
I know what it is like, jobless, keep thinking positive and one day it will all come together:D
I'm o.k, just overdone it, on my feet constantly doing the wii fit or housework or walking to the shops or the docs, cleaning, etc and after a certain amount of days it , the body says 'no thank you not today' calm down, sit down and chill but I am not a chiller:rotfl:

My sis says to look at each day as an opportunity (told her I bought the buss pass to go daily to jobcentre etc next week) I guess that is the only way to look at things, there are so many credit crunch affected people, so frustrating though:rolleyes:

Had my panckake with a bit of fruit, the kids moaned at only have 5 yes 5 each:rotfl: :rotfl:

TAN take a deep breath:D now, the gym thing, yes annoying but it can be resolved if you speak nicely to the manager and explain the referal etc, go in person if poss, the weight being more, at least now you know the exact weight, buy new scales or borrow them, work on the exact weight and every single pound that comes off from now on will bring you extra joy;)

marion no you do not have permission to go mad tonight:rotfl:

Good luck to your OH, BB. Fair play to you for putting quality of life ahead of money too. I share your sentiments entirely :)

Welcome new peeps, congrats Somnium and Granny! Congrats in advance to anyone posting good results tomorrow :p

I've eaten more than usual in the last couple of days but today I also got a new PB for half marathon (21km): 2h29m10s. So I'm a happy bunny :)
