Hi all. Food wise has been rubbish today but it was expected! Today is OH's birthday so breakfast was one hot cross bun, lunch was ribs for OH (I had 2 ribs while he had most of 2 racks) some wedges and some stuffing from the deli, and dinner was an indian take away. OH wanted poppadoms AND a proper starter which was far too much but as it was a treat I said ok. I ordered an extra rice as I knew I would barely touch my main so he would end up with it for dinner tomorrow. I was right as after starters I was stuffed so had 1 piece of chicken, a spoonful of rice and a spoonful of sag aloo, and didnt even eat it all! There is tons for OH tomorrow, so its all good.

I also had a tiny slice of the most divine birthday cake! I bought it from a posh cake shop and had it iced with his name etc on it so he was very happy as it was clear I had made an effort. He was happy with all his pressies as well, so I'm in the good books today! I havent done any uni work today, or in fact since I finished my essay so need to do some tomorrow before I get used to having a life again!

Will pull tomorrow back food wise with cereal and or soup during the day, and cous cous for dinner so nice and light. And a slice of birthday cake of course! Wishing everyone a good food day tomorrow. Night all.
  • great result on the buggyboard polka.
Beanie - lots and lots of luck for tomorrow. Chocolate as medical necessity (aneathetises test anxiety) is a must.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Just an update on downstairs. I asked her this morning (she was only paying £100 a fortnight) if I could have £30 or £40 for activities each week. She said she was so relieved I asked her because she really didn't want to only pay for expenses. So alls well that ends well. And even £200 a month is HUGE just to dedicate to the children-I can finally go to the zoo:j

    Morning all!

Stuck indoors today with no access to kitchen (having work done in there) - could be a good weight control plan except for all the mountains of picnic food piled up in the lounge! :p

I don't watch tv other than some of the sports I follow but it seems to me from comments on here that there's an awful lot of 'diet' type programmes around at the moment?!

Hope you have a good weekend Sary! You mustn't feel guilty about your success. I have a similar thing, a friend started a little after me, she dropped 3 stone quite quickly, stalled and then gained a stone back. She's now STS-ish for over a year so at least it isn't continuing upwards :) She seems to get disheartened if she "only" loses 1lb :( I've tried and tried to help her understand how fab a 1lb loss is and how they can add up quickly!

Yesterday is a good example of how I find it difficult to eat sufficient calories when I have a heavy exercise day. I didn't know until 2pm that I'd get chance to go to the gym - so up to and including lunch (my main meal of the day) I'd eaten a typical 'usual' amount of 1116 calories, which was fine. I then did 2hrs on the gym equipment worth 891 calorie burn (PAYG gym so I need to have a worthwhile session each time I visit), by my own stingy calorie burn calcs not the gym machines over generous ones! Afterwards I could only stomach another 587 calorie intake the rest of the day and that was with really trying! Result for day: 1703-891 = net calories of 812! Much too low...!

Polkadot thats brilliant and now eeryones happy with the situation! Well I had a cheat and hopped on the scales to see how much damage yesterday did, and im only 1/2 lb heavier than I was on wednesday so that can easily be recouped over the next few days. The alcohol binge on saturday still to come though but Im now a little more confident that I might be able to manage a sts and not a gain this week!

I am absolutely shattered today. Have averaged 3 hours walking a day for the last few days and at a quicker pace than usual, and I can definitely feel it now. Right off to get some cereal and start the day!

You'll be burning some serious calories there dmv - a good brisk walk off-road is worth about 280 cals/hour for me, and for most people it would be more!

Anyone got any good weekend plans?

We're having the "dine in for two for a tenner" from M&S on Saturday Night.

We picked Chicken Breasts with a Cheesy type Crumb coating and Cherry Tomatoes, roast potatoes (the cubed ones, with herbs) and for afters dum dum dummmm Profiteroles!!!!
Also, bottle of rose wine! Haa
I am not too worried though, as I am trying to relax a "little" since I am so proud to have started my 5k training.

Will be going for a run early morning, then probably go to the library. A book I reserved a few weeks back is available. It's a Janet Street Porter one "Life's too F**king Short!" Lol...
I skim read a few pages of it, at New Year when I was in London, and it fascinated me. She is so blunt and to the point! I love her for that!
Did anyone see her on Gok Fashion Fix? Hilarious!

andyslinz no one will shout at you, its all about balance.
Missy - thats quite a high calorie burn for something I do a lot of, quite happy with that!

I realised today that I weigh less now than I have been for over 2 1/2 years! So I went to my "clothes that dont fit" wardrobe and had a big try on. I now have another 2 pairs of jeans that fit, a pair of combats and a couple of tops. I threw a hell of a lot out and only kept my favourite items, so to fit back into them feels great!
