    Hi all!

It's a 0.5lb loss for me (monthly result). I've now been in the same 3lb 'bracket' since October :j Calorie intake has been on average 1730/day for the month. Loads of exercise.

One thing I still struggle with is eating enough on or before my heaviest exercise days. I'm being hampered by the relatively small but annoying 'fat store' gains that appear after the days I've done the most exercise! My focus is now going into sorting this out. New allowance is 1850/day average, but may go higher depending on activity levels.

Anyway I'm feeling really pleased with the result, and 4 months in I'm still very happy with doing my weight/measure checks monthly instead of weekly :)

Good luck everyone still to weigh this week!

some chav has just hit our car and two others due to speeding. Thankfully matt is at work and my car is parked outside the police station and thats where this scum bag is. I knew something was going to happen, totally knew it. Apparently there isnt much damage but the plastic on the door has been ripped off and its scratched up a bit. Still, thats going to cost me regardless cos if i go through insurance i gotta pay 200-400 quid excess or do it outside. Bet he isnt even insured. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

On a brighter note, last night was great and my toga worked wonders! I even managed to attract a greek man dressed as a ghoul, but then worked out he wasnt greek but a brazilian ha! He kept going on about greek gods so i thought he was greek. Did you know that nike is the greek god of victory? and victoria means "victory" so techinically i am nike. Its days like these that make me wonder why i drink alcohol, i wish it didnt have side effects.

victory: Lovelly. Constipation was it? I hate it when you get a poo thats too big for your bum hole, or if you get a big bit poo that moves in your tummy and you can feel it.

    Hello guys,

Polka - your ex sounds like a dream, how come he's an ex?? Is he coming over from SA? Brilliant advice for Buttons on the smoking smell.

Buttons - I have to confess I am a complete anti-smoking person, but the worst kind, as I did smoke in my teens, so a reformed smoker is even worse! I wouldn't even buy a car that had been smoked in :o I think part of the key to keeping the smell at bay will be to do the whole bicarb, febreeze, scented candles stuff, but most importantly, open windows and get as much fresh air in too. Then, and here's the really hard part, don't smoke in the flat again until they've visited. I remember the house always smelled better once we'd been away for a few days, rather than first thing in the morning when we were there the day before. Giving the smell a chance to subside will help - don't forget to febreeze your curtains, lampshades, blinds, etc, and try to wipe down the walls (even ceiling if you can).
If you really want to give up, go to your GP and get the help for free, plus you'll get support along the way. There's nothing better than waking up and not coughing your lungs out!

BTW Buttons, the cans of soup I get are Sainsbury's own brand chunky ones. They do chicken, beef, bacon & 3 bean, chilli beef. They're really satisfying as they are more like a stew, and at between 180-sub 200 cals /64p a tin are an ideal meal in one, with lots of chunky veg & meat in them. Hopefully this link will work and you'll see what they look like: D306BA5A-66A6-45EC-9E8C-8287CD56406.jpg

If you're making something at home, make a note, if possible of the weights of what you're adding to the pot, then put all those ingredients into foodfocus.com on the 'create meals' section of the food log, then when you get an overall total calorie amount, break that down into 100g amounts for more accurate portion amounts. It's a little bit laborious, but then you've got the meal in your created meals, and you can just add it again and again. I have done this for my h/m bread, lasagne, bolognese, porridge, yorkshire puds, salads, beef casserole, etc., as I tend to use the same ingredients. It really helped me early on in the year when i needed to log every calorie - it also helped me realise that some of my perceived 'healthy' meals, were more packed with calories/carbs/fat than I realised.
Do you have a freezer? If so, try freezing half your loaf, or take out the slices you'll need each day the night before/1st thing in the morning. You can toast frozen bread. I use Nimble, because it's so low in cals 44 per slice for wholemeal, and tastes great. I keep it in the freezer, and use a couple of slices at a time, which also prevents me snacking on a slice here & there! It's often on the reduced bread counter, so I've got some loaves in the freezer bought for 10p!:T

Well, I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning, and it's looking positive for tomorrow's weigh-in! Fingers crossed. I find my sneaky peeks give me the incentive to either do better, or keep up the good work. Thankfully I don't get demoralised. I am determined to break through the stone barrier this month. I WILL do it!

I spent all morning doing 3 mahoosive baskets of ironing. Domestic chores have been left wanting somewhat with packing/moving from the other house. I've rearranged a couple of cupboards, but still need to make more room for stuff - eek! running out of space already! BF's house is starting to look more homely now that I have my nice bits & pieces here. We're really settling down together nicely now, and he says he loves the fact that I'm lying beside him every night - freaks me out a bit when I open my eyes and he's staring at me! Frankly, I can't see the attraction of watching me slobering into my pillow as I sleep!

    Food so far:
    B - porridge
    L - chunky veg & chicken soup

Dinner tonight, is already in the oven, and we're having h/m beef casserole. I've used up half a can of sainsbury's vegetable soup my son found too spicy, the stock is left over beef gravy made from the joint juices on Sunday, and OH will be having the roast potatoes left over from Sunday with it too. I won't have any potatoes, to keep it a mega low carb, satisfying meal. I may indulge in some mangos & strawberries with natural yogurt for dessert/supper, if I feel I need it. Otherwise, that may be my breakfast tomorrow. I bought a snack 200g pot of fresh mango in Tesco yesterday that was reduced, while I bought diesel & a big pot of sainsbury's value natural yogurt that was 47p, strawbs were reduced to 1.59 in Tesco too for a big punnet.

Planning my meals ahead is definitely keeping me on track - woo hooo!

Vix - if the damage is just cosmetic, like trim, wing mirror, etc., before you contact the car maker for a price on parts, just have a quick look on Ebay first. There are loads of cheap, new parts on there, and trim will probably just clip on to a fixing on the side, etc. I bought a new bumper, and bonnet sprayed the right colour for my old Focus on ebay for a fraction of the cost Ford would have charged me - OH was able to fit them, as they just screw/bolt on. Fingers crossed the chav is insured and you can claim through them, if not, he'll get a huge fine and mega points, as it's a big no-no for the police.

I think we need to see photos of the toga, you Nike goddess! ha Did you count the calories in those drinkiepoos?

I think Victory's problems were the complete opposite, and she simply had the world coming out of her bottom! I am thankful I have rarely had 'consecration' as my BF puts it, but I remember my eldest getting it when he was weaning aged 6mths, and he was in agony. Poor mite. Lets just say he was grateful for the benefit of a tub of vaseline, a cotton bud, and a tummy massage.

See, I was brought up in a smoking house, so the smell doesn't really bother me, right now. I imagine when I finally kick the habit, I will be like you Sary, utterly repulsed by it! If I'm honest, I'm a bit reluctant to give up 100% ATM because everyone I have known has gained at least 1stone after quitting or in the case of my step gran in the hospital - 6stone

I do have some Bicarb soda in the cupboard, so I'll dot that liberally around the house when my mum leaves and DD goes down for a nap, then vaccumn it up afterwards. I've confined my smoking to the kitchen window right now, which involves me lugging my fat body onto the breakfast bar haha, and blowing the smoke into a febreeze candle!
It must be working as my Grandad visited for the first time in 2years the other day (he LOATHES smoke) and he said he would visit again because my house isn't as smelly or smokey as it once was!

OHs jobs are too clear his PC desk and remove all his stupid gaming magazines and games out of the living room, big piles all over, sick of the sight of them. I feel like sticking them on freecycle but it would probably result in a domestic LOL.

I'll give the walls a scrub tonight with some lemon CIF, I'm just trying to diminish the smell a bit. Once I leave this house and they give the rooms a lick of paint (well hopefully) the smell should evaporate. I think maybe 1 of them smokes too.

I never shop in Sainsburys Sary, it's too far away for me, but I'll maybe see if I can get a lift from my dad and pick some up, I like the sound of that chilli beef soup!

I just made a Shepherds pie, it smells gorgeous, and gave my mum some and she has asked for 2nds. SOUP KITCHEN!

Oh and I agree about smoking in a car Sary, my dad smokes in his and it is VILE, it smells fushty, and I ended up storming out of his car when DD was a baby because he lit up. Probably was safer to stay in the car then get out at some traffic lights but hey ho!

Constipation plagues my life, I'm supposed to drink Movicol - 4 of them a day because I end up with faecal impaction, believe me, you can ACTUALLY feel a big pile of hard poo in your stomach, revolting. I haven't taken any in a few days because quite honestly it tastes rank, but now I haven't had a poo in 4 days so I best go take some before I'm blue lighted to A & E with poo coming out of my lugs!

VIX - so sorry to hear about the car. Hope its not too expensive for you, you cant put a price on the stress and aggro tho.

BUTTONS - I have no other advice RE smoking smell but you the hallway wasnt described too nicely, so maybe if there is rubbish or a lot of dust/dirt around you could have a quick sweep in the areas he will see? Just to make the journey to your flat a bit nicer?

Food wise has been cereal and 2 crumpets today (reduced) and dinner will be chicken breasts marinaded in thai red curry paste (not a lot needed as it is HOT!) served with freshly sliced red and orange peppers and cucumber. OH will stuff it all into hot pitta breads, which I may have one of. A very yummy meal which has the right balance of hot and cold food.

my brother works at a garage, hes the man that orders in all the parts so i get the staff discount so its not too bad! its just the hassle of sorting it out, ringing the insurers ect. Police were involved so i bet that makes it worse. Turns out he is insured so thats good news.

i didnt take a camera last night so im waiting for people to tag me on facebook, they should be ok cos i didnt drink that much last night, normally when i wear a skirt the old knicks make an appearence.

right, brothers just rang and theyre about an hour away so i suppose i should go and do one last tidy/clean. The hoover has broken so im not going to !!!! around hoovering with that really thin nozzle attachment.
  • Hi Everyone

New to this thread (and a bloke)

My wife gave birth to our first son eight months ago and we're fed up of living off takeaways and rubbish food. She's joined SW online and I am joining in as well as I need to lose about 5 stone. My biggest problem is snacking on the wrong things and not eating the right stuff for lunch.
I find it too easy to eat a pie or crisps with my lunch at work and I do enjoy my chocolate. I am reasonably fit and play squash twice a week but I want to wear some clothes that are lurking in the wardrobe.
If anyone has any ideas for packed lunches at work that would be much appreciated. I guess there are probably loads on past threads so sorry for that.

Anyhow look forward to saying hi to everyone on here and I hope that by joining this thread it will give me the impetus I need.
